Alexandra's POV
"Who are you?" I asked.
"My name is Andrea Montez and I am your mother." she said.
"My mother is Margaret Stone! I'm not related to anyone named Andrea Montez. So I think you have the wrong person." I yelled at her, my anger starting to get the best of me.
"No my daughter. I do not have the wrong person. Your father and I gave you to the Stones to keep you safe until you were old enough to take over for your father. I do not have time to tell you the whole story, but know that I am here to help you and to train you in the ways of my kind." she said in a very soft and angelic voice.
"I don't understand. Youre telling me that my mother is not my mother and my father is not my father? And I'm somehow the daughter of two people I have never met? As if I'm going to believe that bunch of lies! Im leaving!" I said as I turned and stormed away, running in the opposite direction. The problem was that no matter how far or how fast I ran, I couldn't actually run away. The scenery continued to stay the same as if it was on a constant repeat cycle. And my so-called mother never moved either. Finally, after another 5 minutes of running, I finally gave up.
"What do you want from me?" I breathed out, trying not to sound as out of breath as I actually was.
"I already told you what I want, darling. To help train you in the ways of my kind." She said
"And what is your kind?" I asked.
"I am a seer from a very powerful witch coven that allied itself with your father's pack." She started with a sad expression on her face.
"You're a witch? And my father is a werewolf?" I asked, a little less annoyed.
"That is correct darling. He is a very powerful werewolf and I come from a very powerful line of witches."
"And what about the Stone's?" I asked as I was trying to wrap my head around everything she was telling me.
"They are witches as well, lower class than myself, but witches all the same. They were instructed not to reveal what they were unless it was absolutely necessary. It was a precautionary step taken by your father to ensure that you didn't try to come looking for us before your father had time to eliminate the threat to his pack." she stated.
"You speak about my father like he is someone in power." I stated.
"As I said before, your father is a very powerful werewolf. The most powerful one I know of to be specific, that is until you meet your mate." she said. "But we are currently out of time for today, darling I have to go."
And just like that, she had disappeared and everything around me went black. I didn't know what happened or what to really make of the whole conversation I had with that woman. Was she really my mother? If so, why was it necessary to send me to live with other people? I'm also confused about who the man was that I had seen in that vision-type thing. And why did I see Liam? Who was he even talking about? Her very last statement about who my father was was the one that had me the most confused. She sure doesn't like to reveal much information, does she? And how was she even able to invade my dreams like that? One thing is for sure that once I get out of here I will ask my parents for the truth. Until then I will just have to endure whatever I have to in this place, but I promise I will not break.
Margaret's POV
"Margaret, would you please come into the living room, I need to talk to you for a moment." Jason asked me. As I made my way into the living room I started to get worried about what this conversation was going to be about. Mine and Jason's relationship was going alright but we had been forced into our marriage by the elder witch council. That council loved to marry people off to others, claiming it was for the betterment of the clan. In some cases it worked out great, in others not so much. As I walked into the living room I started to feel as if one of my worst nightmares had come true. I thought that Jason was going to say that he no longer wanted me, now that Alex is all grown up and our duty to the king will be fulfilled once Alex is sitting on the thrown. But what he had to say was by far worse than that.
I took a seat on our brand new gray leather couch and sat staring at Jason in hopes that he would just start talking and let me know why he looked so defeated.
"Margaret, I have failed." he stated in a very broken voice. I could hear so much pain in his voice that my heart was breaking for him and I didn't even know what was going on.
"What are you talking about Jason? I cant believe that you would ever think that you are a failure." I told him.
He looked at me for a moment before saying, "She's gone, Alex is gone."
"What do you mean she's gone?"
"She is two hours late getting back from the run she went on, she is never late." He said, trying not to cry.
"Did you go and try to track her down? Following the path she might have taken to see if maybe she was just hurt or stuck?" I asked, hoping that the answer was no and that we could go in search of her.
"That was the first thing I did. Since she is supposed to have her bracelet on at all times, I followed its location to try to track her. I found the bracelet, but Alex wasn't there. I also found evidence of a scuffle between maybe three individuals. Plus there was this." He said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small bag with what looked like a needle in it.
