Her phone kept on ringing continuously.Luke checked the caller ID and he saw Alex.He decided to pick the call."Hello"
Alex's eyes turned darker when he heard the voice."Hello"Alex replied back.When he spoke,Luke recognized the voice ,it was the voice of his half brother.
"Alex"Luke muttered."yes, Luke what are you doing with my girlfriend's phone?"Alex asked.Luke was shocked with this revelation.before he could answer him.Mariana opened her eyes."hey,what are you doing with my phone"she said collecting her phone back from Luke.She looked at the caller and saw that it was Alex,it was too late for her since the call has ended.she decided to call him back when she reaches home.
"Don't you know what privacy means,why do you have to answer my call?"she said to Luke who ignored her and was looking out through the window of the car.
"I don't even know who you are,why are doing this to me? please leave me alone"She said to Luke."just shut up before I throw you out through this car window"Luke said to her.Mariana had her mouth closed immediately,she didn't want to risk her life.
When the car arrived infront of the company.Luke stepped out and entered the company.Mariana came out of the car too but she was stopped by Hector.Mariana looked at him questioningly."I need to talk to you"Hector said and Mariana accepted and followed him to his office.
"Where is that jerk?"she asked Hector as they came into his office."That jerk is your boss and I advice you to don't mess with him"Hector replied.
Mariana was in shock,she couldn't believe that she had met the owner of the famous dynamic enterprises.she wished for the ground to open and swallow her.
She believed Hector because she knew Hector as a serious person,a person who never joked.Hector walked closer to her,he stared in her eyes,as soon as they locked gaze,his eyes changed colour"forget everything that happened,no one tried to strangle you,you are just a girl endorsing for this company in order to get money,you have never met the boss of this company,you only see him in television."Luke said to her but to his utmost surprise, Mariana let out a loud laughter."what kind of joke was that,how could you possibly want me to forget all this things,you must be joking,I can never forget this,I can't believe that I met the boss of this company,I even insulted him,I pray he doesn't sack me and why did he try to kill me,I don't remember having any encounter with him in the past"Mariana narrated but Hector did not speak,he was still in shock,his compelling ability has not failed before and the worst part of it was that she was just a human who knew nothing about the supernatural creatures.if it was a werewolf or vampire,he would think the person drank elixir but she was a mere human,why did his compelling not work on her.
"Hey,am I the only one seeing things now?,why did you pupil change color to red before and now it's back to normal, what is going on?"she asked Hector who didn't know what lie to tell her."eeehhm,I have an eye problem,but the doctors are working on it"he replied."ok,I see"Mariana nodded.
"I just wanted to tell you to forget about everything that happened, don't tell anyone what am about to tell you,it's a secret,"he said."sure,I promise I won't tell anyone"Mariana replied."His actions towards you that day has a reason for it,please this is our boss secret, don't tell anyone if you have human sympathy.
"Sure,I have promised you that it's between the two of us,I won't tell anyone about it,u just want to know why he wanted to strangle me that day"She replied.
"Ok, come closer,I don't want anyone to hear this"he said and Mariana came closer and Hector whispered in her ears
"Our boss is sick in the head,he acts like a maniac sometimes"he said to Mariana who was shocked with the revelation,how could a famous billionaire be having brain issues.
"Don't you believe me?"Hector asked when he saw her expression."I believe you,I noticed something off about him,he acts like a psycho,oooohhh,so this is his secret,what led to this,he must have been suffering from this as a child."she replied showing a sympathetic face.
"Yes, you are right, when he was a kid,his parents were killed by a woman and since then , whenever he sees a woman,the memory rushes into his brain,he tries to kill the woman thinking it was a way to save his dead parents"Hector replied almost crying too because the story he made up was touching.
"Omg!,that's so sorrowful,he really suffered, didn't they catch the murderer?"she asked wiping her tears with her hand ker chief.
"The woman ran away"Hector replied."just like that"Mariana was dumbfounded."yes, just like that"Hector replied.
"And that's the reason he could never forgive himself,he couldn't bring justice to his parents,he thought that just was killing any woman he sees,the incident affected his brain"he replied her.
"This story is so.....I don't know what to say again,do you think women workers are safe in this company,what if he ends up strangling all of them to death, this is gonna be a tragedy"She said wiping her tears.Hector nearly burst into laughter at her question but he controlled himself.
"He drinks his medicine,am here if that day will come but it won't , he will not kill anyone,so that's the reason why you won't tell anyone ,if anyone hears of it,his position in the company might be taken away from him from the evil people,he will be forced to go to the mental assylum,he will end up like his parents, every thing he worked hard for will be taken away from him.
"I promise I won't tell anyone"Mariana replied tears threatening to fall from her eyes again."what a wicked world"Hector uttered.
"People are so wicked"Mariana replied standing up to leave."so where are you going now?"Hector asked."for the shoot"Mariana replied."ok I see,so yo know you will come tomorrow too"He said to Mariana who nodded."yeah I know,see you"she said and left the office still wiping her tears with a handkerchief.The story of Luke was really touching to her.
Hector heaved a sigh of relief, this was the best option,he was really brilliant,he saw that Mariana was a good person,that was why he told her a touching story so she would feel pity for Luke.
A call came in from look,he clicked the answer button."I want to see you in my office"Luke told him and the call ended.
