Grace hesitates, glancing toward the sky as she thought about what had happened earlier. "I think I'm ready to go back now," she said quietly. "I don't want to stay away too long. But thank you, Logan. Really."
Logan nods, helping her to her feet, and they began the climb down the ladder together, Logan always staying right behind her, making sure she was steady. When they reached the bottom, he helped her into the truck, and as he got in beside her, he starts the engine and looks at her with a warm smile.
"I'll drive you home," he said gently. "We don't have to talk about what happened tonight anymore unless you want to, but just know I'm here. We'll take it one step at a time, okay?"
Grace nods, her heart full as she looks at him. "Okay," she whispered. "One step at a time."
