A special moment

A long journey to save her mother. That is what Luana is thinking now. Luana and her cousins are in a time portal, unconscious, holding each other's hands without knowing where they are going. Luana is sure that she is changing the past to save her mother, but her cousins are trying to help her not to make a mistake. This time, Luana and her cousins are finally in their destiny, or maybe not. They appeared in the attic again, but the environment is different. The sky is clear and shining, which means one thing: it is morning. But minutes ago, the time was different, it was night and there were people in the attic. Now it's empty. Slowly, Wellington, Glaucio and Luana wake up. They observe everything around them is different and don't know if they are in the same timeline anymore. “Wow! What a crazy dream I had.”, commented Wellington. “We are in the Manor... I'm sure..., but which timeline?”, asked Glaucio, confused. “Of course, we are at home. Maybe we slept in the attic for so long that my father and sisters decided to leave us here. Thank you so much! Why haven't they woken us up to go to bed?” “You don't think we... or came..., or not..., or whatever, time travelled to a different timeline, did we?”, stuttered Wellington, thoughtfully. “What is that symbol on the wall?”, Luana asked, curious. “What are you talking about?”, asked Wellington with his back to the wall. “Behind you.”, answered Luana. Wellington turns around and is surprised by what he sees: “Wow!” “Yes, isn't it? I've never seen this symbol in the attic before.”, Luana commented. “I don't know, maybe we should explore the Manor to see what we can find.”, suggested Glaucio. “If we are in a different timeline, how do you think they will react? I mean, what if someone sees us and thinks that we are strangers?”, Wellington asked, worried. “It won't be a surprise because we all know about time travel and also because we have travelled many times. It is a behaviour we took on to fix something without thinking twice.”, answered Glaucio, laughing. Luana doesn't listen to their chat because she is focused on looking at the symbol, and willingly she draws the symbol with her hands and a strange light sucks her into the symbol. She has opened a portal without knowing and ends up in a different scenario. The boys don't realise her absence because they are thinking about what to do. “Maybe we should vote. What do you think?”, opined Glaucio. “I think it is a good idea...”, Wellington finally realises something is different: “Where is Luana? She was right here.” a black hole on the wall calls his attention. “With us, of course.”, answered Glaucio nonconformist that his cousin is absent. “No! Look!”, Wellington turns his brother around to the wall. “How is it there?”, asked Glaucio suspecting that a demon is present in the Manor. “I don't have an answer for it, but maybe it has something to do with Luana. I'm sure there was a symbol instead of this black hole on the wall.”, answered Wellington pulling his brother's arm and going into the portal. After entering the portal, the scenario is different. Luana is next to the altar, sitting and calm. It looks like she is meditating and in a trance. “Why did you do this to us? What if this place is a trap? And...”, Glaucio fights back. “Shh!”, ordered Wellington after seeing his cousin with her back to them. “Don't shut me!”, Glaucio thinks his brother is unfair to him. “You won't believe it!”, Luana says, inspired. “Oh my! You startled me!”, Glaucio responded to his cousin's voice. “Believe in what?”, asked Wellington, surprised by his cousin's comment. “Look at this big book! There are descriptions about demons and spells I've never read before.”, Luana's eyes are glowing with happiness. “Let me see.”, asked Glaucio, interested. Luana gives the Consecrated Book to her cousins, and they are surprised too. “I know what is going on, we are in the future.”, commented Glaucio without giving more details about it. “To the future? But I thought. Why are we here?”, asked Luana, confused. “I told you! I mean, do you remember why we are here? What if you travel alone without knowing what to do in a situation like this? I remember now. We time travelled to save your mom!”, asked Wellington who is sure that his cousin knows what he is talking about. “I don't know, but we need to go back and explore the Manor to see what we can do for now.”, answered Glaucio, optimistic. “Yes, but how will we leave this place without knowing what to do?”, asked Wellington, worried. “Before coming here, I was in the attic and somehow I came here. The last thing I remember is that symbol...”, commented Luana, thoughtfully. “We can search for the symbol in the book. Can you remember what the symbol looks like?”, suggested Glaucio as an option to the problem. “No.”, answered Wellington. “No, but maybe we can use a memory spell to remember it.”, Luana is sure that will work. “Do you remember the memory spell by heart?” They hold each other's hands and repeat the spell three times. Memories are like the wind Come and go between time Memories come back to us And win one more time our trust. A tornado surrounds them, and now they are trapped inside of it. No one can see them from outside. Inside, it is possible to see pictures of memories that happened hours or minutes ago, but from outside, it is just a strange tornado occupying the room. “There!”, Luana says, pointing to the memory of when she was sucked into the portal. “Wait, but how does the portal open if there was nothing when we arrived there?”, Wellington asked, confused. “Maybe because I am powerful enough to open portals for myself?”, displayed Luana, proud. “Actually, it could be something else. Do you remember if you touched the symbol or repeated a spell to open it?”, Glaucio asked, rationally. “I saw a symbol and was playing with it following the line, but I didn't say any spell.”, answered Luana, remembering everything. “Maybe we should try it one more time.”, suggests Wellington. “Then what are we waiting for? Let's draw it!”, Glaucio accepts the idea. “But I can't remember how to draw it. Maybe we should try to find the symbol in the book as you suggested.”, Luana has a reason to be worried. “Great! A memory spell for… NOTHING!”, complains Wellington. “Let's do what we always do when we are in doubt of how to use something.”, convinces Gláucio, optimistically. They start searching for the symbol they saw in the book. Immediately, the book starts turning its pages to the page where the symbol is. “Demetriax?”, asked Wellington thinking that is a strange name. “A symbol created by Amazons who took care of a witch called Camille... Right! I get it, but Ares got this witch pregnant because he wanted a son to his throne after his death, but instead, a girl was born...”, Luana read aloud. “Talks about the symbol, but not how to use it.” “The symbol guards a jar where the God of War is trapped. Oh! Big revelation. I don't see witchcraft here.”, agrees Wellington. “I believe the book is telling us about Demetriax as a symbol that guards an object or a person. If this same symbol trapped Ares in a jar, it means that the same symbol can releases him too.”, Glaucio concluded his theory about the symbol. “Now everything makes sense. “, thinks Luana, affirmative. “So if we draw the symbol again, are we going to release the God of War again?”, asked Wellington. “Maybe we should think about the second option.”, answered Luana, agonised. They start drawing the symbol again. “Let's go!”, calls Wellington, nervous about getting out of the consecrated plan. “Yes.”, Glaucio holds his brother and cousin's hands and jumps out of the portal. Back to reality and outside the Consecrated plan, they are on the ground, unconsciously sleeping. The first one to wake up is Glaucio and a known voice calls for him. “Grace! Welly! Lua!”, the strange voice calls. “Who is there?”, asked Glaucio with his eyes closed, but conscious. “Well, I would say I am the future self of myself.”, the strange voice answered. Glaucio opens his eyes and sees a woman with black hair, light eyes, peach lips, make-up skin, and casual clothes. The lady Luana from 2060. “Luana? You look...”, Glaucio comments, getting up on the floor: “Different.”, and realises his Luana version is still on the floor. “Wait, are you a demon?” “If I was a demon, I wouldn't survive an ordinary spell and potions.”, answered Luana, laughing about her cousin's comment: “Help me to wake up the others and I'll explain everything.” “Hey, Welly, wake up! Wake up!”, calls Glaucio, shaking his brother's body. “Right! Just a few more minutes.”, Wellington thinks he is on his bed. “Welly, this is serious, we are in the future and...”, Glaucio tries one more time. “Wait, what? In the future? Our Manor has been taken to the future? Was this a Tempus work?”, Wellington wakes up scaried. “Actually...”, Glaucio calms his brother down, pointing to the two versions of Luana. “Oh!”, Wellington is surprised. But the truth is, he doesn't remember what happened minutes ago. “Who are you? You look like...”, Luana(traveller) asked the woman in front of her. “I am you from 2060.”, answered Luana, smiling. “Me? But what happened? How did I...?”, asked Luana(traveller), confused. “Ended up travelling to this time instead of hours ago from your timeline? I can answer it because eleven years ago, I was in your place right now.”, answered Luana: “Hi, Welly!”, and greets her cousin. “Hello, Luana from the future.”, greets Welly back. “Back to what I was asking about, why are we here if we...?”, asked Luana(traveller), guessing. “I wanted to save your mom, I know. When you have travelled in time, the only action you did was repeat the word Mom thinking about it, but you didn't say which one.”, explained Luana. “But I imagined my mom's picture and I don't know what I did wrong. And I'm already a mother in my timeline.”, Luana(traveller) says, confused. "Perplexity was never a strong suit to this family. But yes, we are mothers, and later you will be mother again.”, says Luana, smiling: “You heard right, but you shouldn't think much about the future and prepare yourselves to travel one more time before a huge problem changes everything.” “Then tell me, we did it?”, asked Luana(traveller), curious. “MOM!”, a child's voice cut into their chat. “YES, KARIN! WHAT'S UP?”, answered Luana, shouting. “CAN WE GO TO GRANDMA LOUISE HOUSE?”, asked Karin. “YES, HONEY, JUST WAIT A MINUTE AND I'LL TAKE YOU THERE, ALL RIGHT?”, Luana answered back, looking at the main attic door. “ALL RIGHT!”, answered Karin and the conversation was over. “That answered your question?”, asked Luana, smiling at her past self. “Yes, and wow.”, answered Luana(traveller), surprised. “Well then! Prepare yourselves to fix everything. If you think about the right timeline, you'll arrive in time to vanquish the demon and save our mom.”, advised Luana to her cousins and herself: “And remember to think about our mom.”, looking at Luana(traveller). “It was fantastic meeting you.”, Luana(traveller) says goodbye. “It was nice to see you too.”, Luana replied, smiling. Luana(traveller) closes her eyes, imagines her mother's image when she was young, holds her cousins' hands and says: “Mom”. A pink light covers them, and they vanish in a blink of an eye. Some particles in heart shapes spread in the air. Now they are in the attic again, but without a symbol on the wall and no furniture in the room. “Well, now it looks familiar.”, says Glaucio looking around. “Yes! But I haven't seen this room empty since...”, Wellington comments, and the door suddenly opens. Three young women appear and are happy to see them. “Wellington!”, greets Loren. “Glaucio!”, greets Louise. “Girl who are with my kids!”, greets Lucinda uninformed. “What are you doing here?”, asked Louise, happy. Wellington and Glaucio hug their mother and aunts. Luana stays quiet and doesn't know what to do. “All right, kids. Spill it out! What are you doing here and who is this woman with you?”, asked Lucinda, seriously. “Everything started with...”, Luana started answering, but her aunt broke into their conversation as always. “It is weird to say that, but you look like someone I know...”, Lucinda comments looking at her niece: “Oh, my God! Louise, isn't she similar to our sister Luana?” asked thinking about her dead sister. “Hi, Aunt Lucy! You are going to tell me a lot.”, greets Luana and smiles, thinking that they have finally recognised her. “Aunt?”, asked Loren, confused. “Yes. She is your niece.”, answered Wellington, thinking the chat is getting fun. “And who is the lucky mother?”, asked Lucinda, curious and surprised. “I am! She is mine, Lucy.”, answered Louise, smiling. “How do you know? Have you seen each other, and never told me?”, asked Lucinda, upset. “Yes, Lucy. Can't you remember the premonition I received about my daughter?”, answered Louise with another question. “Oh! I get it.”, answered Lucinda back, but with an ‘I don't understand, but I will agree’ look. “Mom!”, greets Luana hugging her mother, and tears coming down from her eyes. “My kid!”, Louise greets smiling. The moment is perfect to start a good talk, but someone has to break into their conversation as always. Because interrupting a good chat is typical family behaviour: “Enough! I can't handle it anymore! Those triplets are terrible! They are driving me crazy!”, complains Luna, without knowing the presence of the travellers. “Are you fine, sis?”, asked Loren, laughing at her sister. “Of course not!”, Luna answers back: “And...”, she turns around and realises the travellers' presence: “Hello?” “Hi, Aunt Luna!”, greets Wellington. “Wellington, Glaucio and...”, Luna tries to greet everyone, but can't recognise her niece. “My daughter.”, Louise helps her. “Oh! Hi, Louise's daughter.”, greets Luana, thinking it might be a demon: “Tell me then. Are your cousins going to stop driving me crazy?” The travellers look at each other and laugh softly: “No way!” “I get it. It is an endless nightmare.”, complains Luna: “Well, what are you doing here? Did something happen?” “Yes, a serious event.”, answered Wellington looking at his cousin. “Talk fast!”, asked Loren: “We are waiting for your answer!” “We can't talk about the future, Lua. Remember that we came to ask for help, but we can't change the past after everything.”, Glaucio warns her cousin. “And why not? The future is already changed anyway! And wasn't it the reason to travel on time? To change the future? My father can fix everything back.”, Luana complains, disagreeing. “But what happened?”, asked Louise, petting her daughter's head. “You...”, answered Luana, about to cry louder: “You are dead, mom!”, ends and hugs her mother stronger than ever. Louise changes her facial expression and runs toward the welcoming room. “LOUISE!”, Lucinda followed her. The travellers and the Consecrated Ones follow them too. Louise is sitting on the couch, desperate and thinking about making a list of things to do before dying. “What happened? Tell us everything, and we can help.”, asked Lucinda. “A demon broke into our Manor when we were about to have a nice supper at a family meeting.”, resumed Wellington. “What!? A demon as always. Not a surprise.”, complains Lucinda. “That is why we travelled back in time, to warn you about what will happen. We don't know why we had to go more than enough to change a past event. But you're our only hope.”, Luana cries for help. “Which timeline have you came from?”, asked Loren, curious. “2049.”, answered Wellington. “It will happen thirty-one years later. How are we going to remember this moment?”, asked Luna, upset. “We just wanted to travel a few minutes ago to change this tragic event.”, Luana explains the truth. “But we ended up travelling far away. I told you not to travel or something wrong would happen, but you have never listened to me, and now we are trapped here.”, Wellington looks seriously at his cousin. “Have you used a spell to go back in time?”, asked Loren. “We used this.”, answered Luana, showing her cupid ring on her left finger. “Yes! We used this to travel back in time to change an event because of a silly fight between us against the Kardashian sisters.”, Lucinda recognises the Cupid ring. “But if this ring brought you to this timeline, it must have a reason for it.”, Loren comments, knowing how time travel works. “Yes, but what?”, Luana doesn't know what to do. “Well, we will find a solution for it. But first try to drink a cup of tea to calm down.”, Luna gives a cup of tea to her sister. Louise drinks the tea but is still sad about what will happen to her. “I'm going to save you, Mom!”, promised Luana sitting next to Louise. “I know you will.”, thanks Louise, smiling and calm. “Well, now we know what will happen, tell me how are you going to do it?”, Lucinda asked, excited. “I have a crazy idea for it.”, Louise answered, optimistically. “What is it?”, asked Loren. “We are going to them. To the future.”, Louise answered. “And what are we going to do there, Louise? Are you sure?”, asked Lucinda. “Absolutely, Lucy. My daughter came here for a reason. To save me,”, Louise answered. “Then what are we waiting for? Let's go to the future!”, calls Luna, excited to know the future.
