The Devil God

4182 Words
Starry night, Miller Manor is shining inside and outside. The full moon is feeding the plants, trees and animals' energies once more. Edward is waiting for a sign from his wife, but she didn't call him back. He decides to send a message: “How are you, Lucy? The girls...“ He hears someone ringing the housebell: “One moment!“ He runs towards the entrance door: “How can I help you?“ Dalia throws a hellfire ball to attack him, but the attack bounces back to her. She dodges it and keeps making the same attack until she gives up: “I will come later.“ and flames out, angry. Edward closes the door and breathes deeply, but he won't tell what happened to others. “Who was it?“ Teresa asks, on the stairs. “A woman asking for help, but I told her that we don't have what she needs.“ Edward lies for the first time. “And what did she want?“ Tatiana appears behind her sister. “Her kid.“ Edward lies again. “That is true. If it was food, we could give it to her.“ Teresa comments. In Hell, the Destined ones are trapped and tired of waiting for help. Romero complains about hunger, but Cecilia jokes about him: “How can you think about food now? Are you mad?“ And Luana is weak too: “Maybe it is already night up there.“ “Don't give up. Romero, keep trying to get in contact with them.“ Wellington won't give up easily. “It is not something like we will get out of here just blinking, but I know we are not going to leave so soon.“ Simone whispers to her cousins and sisters. “Of course we won't. And why do you whisper if the demons don't care what we are complaining about?“ Cecilia argues with her second-oldest sister. “I am trying to cheer myself up, don't you know? I don't have a phone, a notebook, a TV, or a book and all I can do is talk to the walls or with myself!“ Simone argues back. “Can you stop arguing? I am trying to focus on it here.“ Romero asks them to stop fighting because he needs to get in contact with his sisters or cousin. Luana decides to help her cousin: “If you let me, I can help you this time. Let me try.“ At Miller Manor, Sabrina is looking for a picture of the premonition she received minutes ago: “I know that I saw that somewhere.“ “Saw what?“ Camila asks, curious. “Our cousins are trapped in a lockup and I know that I saw that thing in the book while looking for an answer to rescue our kidn*pped cousins.“ Sabrina answers, flipping the Consecrated book pages. “Well, maybe it was just a blur, and you thought that was a lockup in the book. But I will cheer you up no matter what.“ Camila doesn't believe that her sister is telling the truth. Sabrina laughs anyway and when she touches the page she is on, a new premonition comes. [flashback] A long-curl-haired woman, with dark skin and golden lips, is lying down, screaming in pain next to giving birth. A baby is coming from her womb and the pain is no longer there. It is a girl. Judith is anxious to see her baby's face: “Let me see it.“ She holds the baby for a minute, but something doesn't please her: “She doesn't have powers. She is useless. Give this child to humans or leave her next to a place where she will die.“ The premonition ends and Sabrina gets dizzy. She is surprised by the scene: “What the hell was that?“ “Another premonition?“ Camila looks at her sister and helps her to stand up. Sabrina looks at the page she is touching and is the same page she read before: “Judith? But why?“ “Who is she?“ Camila is trying to know more about what is going on. “Maybe the woman I saw was her.“ Sabrina answers. “Hello, guys! How is it going?“ An archangel appears out of nowhere. “Slow. We are trying to understand why they kidn*pped our cousins.“ Camila answers, smiling to pretend that she was fine. “And did you find anything?“ Archangel Phanuel asks to see if they know what to do next. “The book showed us two different pages, but now it is showing the Judith page again, and we don't know why. Sabrina said she saw our cousins trapped in a lockup and also a woman holding a baby,“ “What do you think about that woman?“ Phanuel asks to see their reaction. “I think that Judith was responsible for k********g our cousins, and she wants to get our attention. Why would I receive a premonition by touching it again?“ Sabrina asks, suspecting that Phanuel knows more than her. “Oh, the Seer. Well, your mom has already vanquished her. Judith was responsible for helping the Devil God for years and tried to persuade him to heir its powers, but failed. After the last Devil God was killed by Louise's ex-demon-boyfriend, she became pregnant with the next Devil God. That kid was stolen by the Seer and started to control the evil thing inside her. She almost became the new Devil God herself, but the Consecrated ones used the Greatest power to put an end to it.“ A clue to make the girls understand what Phanuel's short version of the story means. Sabrina is not touching the boom or anything, but receives a third premonition. [flashback] Dalia is in a room with her followers telling them that her dreams are coming true: “I was chosen, and I'll be the next Devil God. I'll prove my loyalty and bravery to you and who deserves to be the heir of the throne. I promise that I won't let you down and here is my proof to you!“ She uncovers a lockup with the Destined ones inside of it. The premonition ends, and a crazy theory comes to Sabrina's mind: “I think I know what is happening.“ “What?“ Camila thinks her sister's behaviour is unexpected. “The woman in my vision was behind that, and she wants to sacrifice our cousins to be the next Devil God.“ Sabrina resumes that Dalia is a threat they need to face. “But only our mothers can do it. They are the Consecrated ones!“ Camila comments: “Also, the Archangel told us that they were responsible for the last Devil God's death using the greatest power.“ “It is a good idea, but we promised our mothers that we would take care of the magic world issues while they live like ordinary human lives.“ Sabrina says, nodding her head. “I will talk to the Elders about that. See you later!“ Phanuel says goodbye, pretending that he doesn't know about that. “Updates?“ Edward asks, and the triplets are behind him. “I have a question.“ Camila answers with doubt: “Can a dead one come back to life alive?“ “Not by their own. It can only come back with someone controlling it or with Heaven's permission.“ Edward replies. “We are not talking about a zombie apocalypse, are we?“ Tamires is lost. “Of course not. My sister received many premonitions and one of them was about a woman giving up her child because that baby didn't have any power.“ Camila says pointing to the book's page: “But the Archangel told us that woman was killed by our mothers.“ “Wait! An archangel visited you?“ Edward asks, unbelieving about it. “We saw him minutes ago, but he left. He said that the Consecrated ones vanquished the Devil God and Judith at the same time.“ Sabrina answers, afraid of being grounded. In Hell, all is calm and empty, no crazy demons around. But a few are guarding the entrances of the ceremony hall. The Destined ones are inside a lockup in the middle of a big symbol on the ground. “I have never thought about saying that, but here is hotter than up there. I thought the heat of summer was Hell. But now...“ Luana complains, shouting. “I think I finally sent a message to them.“ Romero announces, opening his eyes and sitting on the ground, wasted. “Did it? And do you think they will find us?“ Wellington asks, excited. “I don't know. I can only say that the magic GPS could work from anywhere.“ Romero answers, sick of trying too many times. “What about trying a location spell?“ Simone suggests. “How?“ Luana is not used to casting spells without the book's help. “The witch's call. The same way we used to find someone with magic gifts.“ Simone answers. “It can work. Great Idea, Simaria!“ Glaucio agrees. “Do you remember the spell by heart?“ Simone asks. In the hotel's room in Brasilia, Lucinda and her sisters are waiting for an answer from their kids: “Enough! I can't hold it anymore. I will leave and go back home.“ Luna blurts out. “But Lu, we can't and...“ Louise is desperate too, but she tries to calm down her sister. “Of course we can. Do we need to do everything they told us to do?“ Loren picks Luna's side. “We agree with you, but...“ Lucinda tries again. “What? Don't tell me you are with them now! Wasn't you who used to be against them in the past?“ Loren shouts pointing up. “Maybe a little, but that was because they didn't let me marry Edward.“ Lucinda can't deny that she was against Heaven's law back then. “You and your excuses. Well, well.“ Loren says, annoyed. The Miller Manor house bell rings again. Teresa goes to answer the door: “Who is it now?“ She opens the door and sees an Asian girl. “Hi, probably you don't know much about me, but I am Cecilia's friend. I want to know if she is home. I can't reach her, and she is not texting me back either.“ Kwon greets Teresa. “Oh, sure. Do you want some water?“ Teresa invites Kwon Seulgi in. “I came to give her my part of our work for her.“ Kwon refuses it: “She is not there, is she?“ “It's okay. As you wish.“ Teresa thanks for taking the girl's notes and folders with college documents. Kwon leaves the house and Teresa closes the door: “All right, let's see what she is doing.“ And goes towards to the kitchen. In the kitchen, Edward is talking to someone(phone): “Yes, Luke... No, it is all right. She is tired because of yesterday and I talk to her not to work hard, but you know how she is. I just need you to take care of everything today and as soon as Larissa recovers herself, she will go back to help you. Until then, keep working, and the kitchen team is all yours.“ Edward is nervous. “Is everything fine with the restaurant?“ Camila asks. “Yes. It looks like today Miller 24 is full. I told Luke to replace Larissa while we are trying to solve an issue.“ Edward answers raising his eyebrows. “You look nervous, uncle. Do you want some water? We need your help.“ Teresa offers a glass of water. “Don't worry about me, Teresa. You will find a solution for that.“ Edward answers, accepting the glass of water and drinking. In the attic, Sabrina, Tatiana and Tamires are discussing how to save their cousins without the Great Power's help. “Let's pretend that the Devil God will come back to life every year. Will we need to call our mothers to save us from it everytime? They need to rest, and they are old ladies now.“ Sabrina doesn't accept the idea of calling her mom and aunts to solve it. “And she is right.“ Edward appears in front of the door. “But uncle, we need the Great Power to vanquish those demons. The Devil God can only be vanquished by it.“ Tamires disagrees. “We need to use the Mationi Power then.“ Tatiana thinks about orbbing to their cousins and using the Destined Ones chant. “Or we can call our mothers to ask what they think about it.“ Teresa says, bored. In Hell, Dalia is in a meeting with the Hell Counsel and a High Taoist Priest: “I told you that I am the Devil God's daughter!“ “How can we trust you?“ Kai asks: “For centuries, not only woman demons were selected to be the Devil God.“ “I have the Destined Ones with me.“ Dalia says proudly, even knowing that four are missing. “It doesn't prove anything. Any demon can capture beginner witches.“ Geya ignores it. “I will use all my powers to put an end to Miller's line and Hell will know me as their leader. I have the right to receive my father's powers.“ Dalia doesn't give up. “The last Devil God didn't talk about having a child. The last one was destroyed with the Seer thirty years ago.“ Kai comments. “I know that. Back then I didn't have any powers, and I was abandoned by my biological family.“ Dalia argues that she is capable of ruling Hell, and she spent years searching for her origin and everything she is telling is true: “You will see!“ And flames out. “Let's see.“ Kai says flaming out. At Miller Manor, Sabrina is touching and chanting rhymes to receive premonitions: “In this time and this hour, I am calling my ancestors. Give me signs to find my cousins.“ The Consecrated plan opens itself to Sabrina, and she sees the Consecrated Book open on the page “The Great Power“. “The Great Power?“ Sabrina goes in: “But this... it doesn't make any sense. I looked at this page already and nothing happened.“ Closer to the Consecrated Book, shows a short movie where Sabrina and her cousins are casting the Great Power. Sabrina doesn't know what the book is trying to say, but her intuition is attracted to doing the spell with her cousins somehow. The triplets enter Sabrina's room and see that she is lying down and hypnotized somehow: “Brina, are you feeling well?“ Teresa asks and Sabrina repeats: “The Great Power, the Great Power. We must use the Great Power.“ “Is she playing a game with us?”, Tatiana asks, confused. “Enough! Sabrina, wake up!”, Teresa is not comfortable seeing it and snaps her fingers. “Oh, hi guys! I didn't see you coming.“ Sabrina wakes up from her trance. “Were you playing with us? You looked like a dead fish, talking like a zombie and on a bed.“ Teresa replies. “I was just trying to...“ Sabrina says that she wanted to have a clue through her gifts, but nothing happened. “Then you decided to pretend to be a robot to talk with us, isn't it?“ Teresa argues. “A portal opened to me and showed me the book open on a page... the same when our mother and aunts used to receive their powers.“ Sabrina answers, confused: “The Great Power.“ “The book is useless. We know that we need our mother and aunts to cast the Great Power spell.“ Teresa complains. “You don't need to trust me but trust the book. My intuition is telling me to try it.“ Sabrina holds Teresa and Tamire's hands. “You don't need to be rude to my sister!“ Tamires says when the house bell rings: “I will answer it.“ She goes downstairs to open the door. Before that, she spies through the hole: “Dad?“ “Thank God you are here!“ Renan hugs his daughter. “Dad! What are you doing here? Is your work shift over?”, Tamires asks. “I was at work, but demons attacked me and took Romero and your cousin with them. I went to my friend's house to breathe and rest a little, but I decided to go back home. I called everyone, but no answered me and...”, Renan looks relieved to his daughter and hugs her more. “My battery is dead, and my phone is charging.”, Tamires feels guilty because she should have been with her phone next to her for family emergencies. “News? Myracle?”, Renan is agitated because he knows what is happening and can't say a word about what his triplets must do. “Sabrina received a lot of premonitions and the book talked to her many times, and now she thinks that we must use the Great Power incantation to save our cousins. Does it makes any sense to you?” Tamires answers with a question in the end. “The Great Power is connected to six elements and two or four can activate it.”, Renan answers with a solution. “Sabrina said she touched the pages about the Devil God and the Seer when she received the premonitions.”, Tamires remembers the details. “Dad?”, Tatiana greets her father. “Hi, beauty.”, Renan greets back. “Dad! I know it is sad, bad and a tragedy to our family. Well, not you, mom, aunts, or us, but... You know what I mean.“ Teresa says hugging her father, and crying. “Is there someone with you?”, Renan asks. “Uncle Edward, Sabrina and Camila.”, Teresa answers. “Yes, Tamires told me about Sabrina and your progress.”, Renan thinks about his friend and brother-in-law. “Where is Edward?” “He is with Sabrina.”, Teresa answers leaving them. In the Consecrated plan, Edward and Sabrina are talking about the book's decision. “It is impossible, right? Uncle, tell me that the book is insane about it.”, Sabrina doesn't want to steal her mother's gifts to save her cousins. “It is time, Brina. Think well.”, Edward answers, smiling. “How? Why us? And why now?”, Sabrina still insists that is not the right path. “Can you tell me what is going on?”, Tatiana opens the door and sees her uncle and cousin fighting. “Thank God you are here. Tell him that he is crazy about us doing that.”, Sabrina asks for help. “What do you mean?”, Renan is trying to understand the situation. “She already knows it, but she thinks it is not right to choose that path.”, Edward answers. “Oh....”, Renan knows what is happening now. “Don't tell me you are with him on it.”, Sabrina asks him with a look. “Follow your heart and answer, why does the book do that?”, Edward wants to guide the girls. . “I know our mother's story is exciting and memorable, but it doesn't explain what we can do with it to save our cousins.”, Sabrina just wants to call her mom. “It is destiny, Brina. Destiny chose you and the Consecrated Book works this way.“ Edward doesn't want to spill the truth: “Destiny chooses you and never the opposite. All of you have the six elements to activate the Great Power yourselves.“ “It doesn't explain anything.“ Sabrina denies her uncle's proposal. “You have pyrokinesis, technology and six senses. Teresa has hydrokinesis, Tatiana has earth control, Tamires has electrokinesis, cryo and air. Camila also has the power to control the air and six senses.“ Edward shows why they must accept their destiny. “We already know that. What it means?”, Tamires is lost in her thoughts. “It means that Destiny chose the next Consecrated Ones.”, Renan answers, smiling to his daughter. The triplets, Camila and Sabrina are surprised with the revelation. They finally told the truth about what is going on. Sabrina picks up the Consecrated book and chants, closing her eyes: When the moon comes up to the high point of the hills, the Great Power will rise. The shadows won't turn off our flames. The Great Power will protect us and the Consecrated Ones will free us with their divine light strength. Free the Great Power to protect us because we are the chosen ones. Blessed us, the light heirs. Let strength and union guide us. We want to be the Consecrated ones and promise to do our best for the sake of all. So mote it be. In Hell, Dalia is arranging herself for the coronation ceremony. Her demon servants are painting a symbol on her full body. “Will these symbols give me strength, as they said? “ Dalia asks smiling proudly. “Yes, they are ancient symbols used by generations and fortified by the time.“ Kai answers it. “I want everything to be perfect!“ Dalia shouts serious. “What about others? You don't have them yet.”, Sabne asks. “Don't worry. When I become the Devil God, I will take care of everything. I will start with seven of them and end with the last ones later. They will come anyway.”, Dalia answers, ironically. “What if they show up with a big surprise?”, Sabne knows what its master is doing by taking the risks of waiting for others to complete her plan. “When they show up, it will be too late because this place is out of their signal.”, Dalia laughs. In the lockup, the Destined Ones whisper each other: “We need to find a way to get out fast.“ Wellington says, even knowing it is impossible to go out. “This is the end, I will die of hunger, kidn*pped by demons and trapped.”, Luana complains. “I don't know how you were caught. You are the most powerful of us all.”, Cecilia thinks that her sister's attitude is not right. She is always confident and not pessimistic. “You are not helping, Mei.”, Simone says, nipping her sister's shoulder. “Ideas?”, Luana asks. “I have one.”, Larissa answers: “But it is 50% risky. It needs the Mationi Power.” “If it is 50% risky to work, it is also 50% risky ending up with our lives. I don't think this is a good ideia, Lari.” Glaucio disagrees. “We need to try.”, Romero agrees with Larissa's idea. “I don't know, but how will we use the Destined Ones spell if we are only seven here?”, Simone thinks that Larissa's plan will fail. “We can't wait anymore and let them celebrate our death. We need to try!”, Romero insists. “This is what I mean!”, Larissa says. “How your plan will work then?”, Luana wants to know if it will work in her point of view. “First, we need to use the Lost Witch spell to summon them.”, Larissa answers. “But it only works when we are the ones who is trying to find them and not the opposite.”, Cecilia did her homework and knows how the spell works. “Actually, it works for you to summon the lost person and not for you. to go to them.”, Wellington explains. “Everyone knows the spell?” “If you don't know, just hold our hands.”, Glaucio says, holding Larissa and Luana's hands. “Will it work?”, Cecilia asks. “We will do it, Mei.”, Simone motivates her sister. Everyone starts chanting: The Great Power is rising and an invisible rope across the skies Come to us, we summon thee. Show us what we want to see.
