I shivered as I pulled my jacket closer, following behind LeAlexende as we climbed the narrow cliff face. Kisten followed behind me and I resisted the desire to look back at him as we walked. As soon as the sun had fully set, LeAlexende insisted we set out, telling Kisten where to drive as we headed back up the Nile. About halfway back to the city, Alex had him stop, saying that where we needed to go would require a short hike.
“Here,” Alex said finally, glancing back as he stood in front of a narrow entrance into the rock face. “It’s through here.”
