I carefully opened my eyes as time started again. I felt the water splashing all around me as I slowly sat up from the bottom of the pool. I heard the Siblings gasp as they struggled to move out of the way, and I opened my eyes to the gently lit cave. I lifted my head toward the ceiling to balance out the weight I felt on my forehead from the horn, and I gently moved my hands in the water, my hair feeling weightless as I sat.
Raiven… I thought, the name of one of my predecessors flashing through my mind as I stared into the rock ceiling above me. The others, Azyam and Mortem, had chosen her will to be passed on and I hummed with the happiness in my chest. Their sacrifice had not been in vain, and I shivered with my overwhelming joy.
