For several long seconds, neither of us spoke. The little red flash drive and the old key rested quietly in Stefan's palm, yet my eyes remained fixed on them as though they might suddenly reveal every answer I had been searching for. I hated not knowing. I hated the feeling that everyone else seemed to understand my life better than I did. Stefan finally closed his fingers around them carefully. "I'll help you." He said calmly. I searched his face, almost expecting him to make a joke and ruin the moment. But he didn't. "You mean that?" I asked quietly. He nodded once. "I do."
