My breath caught in my throat as my lips tingled ridiculously in anticipation, but of course, Dawson doesn't do kisses, and who was I that he'd kiss me? I just focused on my exhaustion and the fact that the hallway fell into a heavy silence after my scream. His grip tightened further on my throat and I grabbed his hand and tried to pull it off of me but he was too strong even to budge. My chest rose and fell rapidly and tears blurred my vision so badly that Dawson's face looked distorted. For one horrible moment, neither of us spoke and I stood there trembling. Emotionally drained.
