My stupid, traitorous heart responded to Dawson's kiss. I immediately kissed him back like I'd secretly been craving it for a while. Like some hidden, embarrassing part of me had been carrying around emotions I didn't even want to acknowledge. It lasted for a second. Or maybe less. Maybe only inside my head. Then, my eyes flew open. And reality instantly crashed back into me so hard that my stomach dropped. Nothing had happened. Absolutely nothing had happened. Dawson wasn't standing in front of me and he definitely wasn't kissing me. He wasn't even inside the bathroom. I was completely alone. I stared at my reflection in horror. "Oh my God." I immediately stepped backward as my hand flew up to my chest. My heartbeat was racing so fast trying desperately to steady myself. "
