Chapter 1 - Bad luck at the door

1031 Words
I was zoning out, sitting on that chair and holding the notebook. My mind went blank after they vanished leaving just some specks of dust. The room was completely dark, the candles must have been turned off. I got up, trying to find a surface and to reach the door. After some attempts of doing so I finally reached the door and opened it. The world outside hadn't changed even a little bit and the sun was still shining bright up there in the sky with the green moon at his side. The green moon is usually up there once every 10 days. I putted the notebook inside my bra to hide it and started to walk with a fast pace towards my castle. I greeted everyone during the walking despite being focused on the past few events. I had to reach my room alone and take a glance at all the happenings and informations that I just got. Finally I had arrived, I entered the hall and a butler informed me that William was looking for me a while ago. Therefore, I first reached the bedroom. He was sitting on the border of the bed, facing the door. "Come in, I just wanted to see you." "Are you still angry at me for the fact that we don't have children?" "No, not anymore. I realised that it's not your fault, but mine. You're a Crystal and you were meant to be the sovereign while I was just a tool." "No, don't say that. Don't blame yourself. It's fate. It decides over us and we, humans, can't do much about it. It was previously written in the stars. All of our lives." "Maybe you're right, but this kingdom needs it's next sovereign. Someone must come after us. So, I think you should try with another man." "If it's really necessary, I will for the kingdom's sake. It'd do anything for my kingdom, however, we'll still be married until our death comes. And we must grow that child because he'll be mine and just mine." "Yeah, I knew you would've understand, and I too do get the point. It just has to happen. It was meant to, like you said before." He then tried to make a smile, but it was eventually a sad one. This situation has going on for 2 years, and I have to get pregnant. That's the only way. Before going away, he turned back. "Could we just... try one more time?" he stopped "Just the last one try, then if it still doesn't work you'll do what you have to do." I stopped to think about it for a second. I mean, another try. What would be the problem? None. "Fine. We'll try one more time " I answered to him. "But could you wait outside, I'll get ready " I said, knowing that I had to hide the notebook. "Sure. Take your time." I took the notebook and hided it under some of my clothes in the wardrobe. I got changed a bit and he entered. It was like all the other times. Nothing had changed about me or him. After it, he fell asleep and I took advantage of it by getting dressed and taking the notebook again with me. I went upstairs, entered my personal room and I shut the door. I sat at the desk and exhaled. I took a paper and started to write the informations that the man gave me. 'So I am 17 years old' Afterwards I opened the notebook and started to read. 'This book is written only for Rose Crystal, queen of the Crystal Kingdom. I want you to know that I appreciated all the work you did to improve the Kingdom. I'm sorry for all the things that you're going to know through this. Hell will be rising up next year. To be more precise, it's the devil that will rise accompanied by the Fate's book. Your Kingdom has to live 666 years in total. That's what the Fate's book sais. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Is there a way to save at least all the people? You're probably thinking this. There's a way. You must bleed the more blood you can in the fountain that's in your hidden garden. Then you have to pour in there one of your tears and a dragon flake. Afterwards, you have to enter the fountain completely and say this: "I sacrifice my blood, sweat and tears for my kingdom's sake. I want everyone that lives in the Crystal Kingdom to be saved on doomsday. I will be the only one witnessing it. No one else but me." I also want to tell you that you're pregnant and that your baby must not witness the doomsday. That's all.' (****) After finishing reading it, I hid the notebook and went outside to look for the doctor. Accompanied by William, he visited me and with a bright smile, told us that we did it. I was finally pregnant. William and I hugged each other tightly, happily smiling for the miracle that just happened. The doctor kept smiling to us. After this bright moment, I came back to reality and, with the excuse that I had things to take care of, I left heading towards my more loyal butler. I told him that I needed for tomorrow a dragon flake and he answered positively, even though it'll be something difficult to achieve in just one day. I'm aware of this, however I'm anxious about all that doom stuff, so I want to accomplish the ritual as soon as possible. After doing this, I really went to do queen's work. I worked all afternoon and all night long trying to keep my mind far away from my actual problems. Being busy it's my only way to escape from problems and to deal with them. I know it's not the better way but has always worked for me and it became an habit. After finishing the work, I got in my night dress and reached Will who was already sleeping by the time I went to bed.
