The Cold Expensive Gold Trap

The ride to Silas’ mansion was literally the longest ride of my life. My mind couldn’t stop imagining what my new home will look like or whether I would like it or not. At this point, I couldn’t help but feel like I was being escorted to a tower prison and instead of a witching guarding it, it would Dracula this time round. Silas had made a call and asked me to come to his mansion a.k.a my new home to get some rest while he finished up with his work. “Ma’am, we are here.” The driver called to me while he hooted at the gates. Giant black gates that had a single gold lining with sharp edges that ran across the huge door gates, up onto of the gate had thorn rings giving an impression of several swords protruding out of it. They drew open with a loud deep noise and the car made its way around the drive way to the front of the house. Slowly, I stepped out with my eyes trying to drink in what I could only imagine to be the biggest mansion I had ever seen, scratch that, A fortress. After the gates, the two black paved drive throughs circled a pouring fountain of what looked like a goddess feeding water into the mouth of a child with a book. Angelic The exterior of the mansion was entirely covered in black marble and glass, the mansion extending far behind to what I only imagined to be extra blocks. “Good evening Ma’am.” A woman dressed in a white and black uniform addressed me. I cleared my throat, pretending that I wasn’t gapping at the buildings just few seconds ago. She smiled and gestured for me to enter inside. “ My name is Halloway Cooper. I am the house keeper, Mr. Vanes informed me your arrival. You’re most welcome to The GreenBale.” She warmly said, her hair was neatly tied in a bun with a few grey strand linings, from the slight wrinkles of her face, she looked around sixty years old. “The GreenBale?” I was confused “Yes Mrs.Vanes, this particular mansion is called GreenBale.” She explained Mrs. Vanes.. that caught me off guard “Ohh, I see.” I said, trying to hide my surprise and shock that I knew nothing about the man I just married a few hours ago. “May I show you to your room?” “Sure, I would love that.” I followed to the long marble stair case and for a moment, a wave of exhaustion hit me and my stomach flipped. I had to hold onto the rail to stop myself from fainting. Mrs. Hallowey saw this and was by my side in an instant. “Are you okay ma’am?” I nodded “I must say, I have never seen a bride look so defeated on her wedding day.” She said as she eyed me from head to toe, taking in my hair and dirty dress and for some reason, I still wasn’t in shoes yet which didn’t help my case much. Defeated?. No I was just starting. Realizing that I hadn’t eaten since morning, I panicked“Can you help to the kitchen, I would love to put something in my stomach.” I begged “Sure ma’am” We made it to the kitchen and she quickly heated up some soup and rice for me. “Here.”she handed me a glass of warm milk too. “Thank you.” I like her already “Let me take you upstairs to your bedroom ma’am” As promised, she escorted me up the stairs, carefully watching me this time. We made it down a wide corridor to a black door at the end. “Here you go.” I must be so lucky that I get to have my own little world in this huge fortress .I thought to myself as I pushed the door open. Then stopped in my tracks. “What are you doing here, this is my room. And aren’t you supposed to be at work?” I rambled. All my wishes flying right out of the window when I saw Silas calmly seated on the bed. “This is the master Bedroom Little Bird. Why would a married couple separate bedrooms. And did you really expect me to stay at the office on my wedding night?” He replied with a smirk on his lips. He was calmly sipping at his whiskey, his head resting on the headboard and wearing a beautiful soft black silk robe, even without decent clothes on, he still looked hot and sexy while I was by the door, looking like a wreck. Pretending to be upset, I toke my time to fully take in his features, he had now grown his black hair compared to back in college, it had a neat blade cut on its left, pushing all his strands behind, his eyes were the shade of raven black and I had never seen much of any emotion in them, his nose was so sharp I had to touch mine out of self consciousness, my eyes lowered down to his beard, unlike most coperate men, he liked to keep his beard visible and it was so soft, my fingers tingled and the thought of running my hands through it. He has full lips that somehow looked so soft and inviting that.. “If you’re done eye f*****g me, kindly shut the door behind you.” He said in a cocky voice “What?. No I wasn’t.” I shot back. Pointing to the large black velvet bed. He said. “This is where you sleep, with me.” “The contract said a marriage of convenience, not..this..” I reasoned with him He calmly stood up and slowly made his way towards me.“The contract said, you belong to me, in every sense. And if the world is a going to believe that this baby is mine, then we don’t sleep in separate wings, Little Bird. We live in each other’s pockets.” He then slowly reached for me, turned me around and started unzipping my dress. “I don’t want to see you in anything that belonged to Marcus.” He growls lowly in my ear, his hot breath tingling my neck and now exposed shoulder. I can feel the warmth of his body as he drew close to me, still softly unzipping the dress. I involuntarily shudder and he takes this as a sign before he puts his hand on my neck and softly caresses my nape line, his hand starts to move to my chest, dangerously close to my breasts and I have to close my eyes at the intensity of this feeling. For a man like Silas, I never knew he could be so tender and soft for anything in his life. Marcus never put in the effort to.. Marcus.. I push myself away from him, holding whatever is left of my dress at my chest to cover myself. “I’m tired Silas. And I’m..I’m nauseous.” I lie How could I be carried away so quickly that I forget the reason I was even here. I couldn’t possibly have s*x with him yet I was pregnant for another man. Silas looked at my stomach, then back to my face and I thought he was angry but he rather had a look of.. possessiveness? How? “The doctor will be here at 6:00AM. If anyone, especially Marcus finds out that the timeline of this pregnancy doesnt match our secret affair,we both lose. From this moment on, Marcus never existed. Understood?” Just then, my phone buzzes. I raise it to see a video message from Marcus but before I can open it, Silas takes the phone from me and opens it. His faces turns to stone. “It seems your ex-fiancé isn’t as stupid as he looks. He is at the front gate, and he brought the police.” “What?” Is he crazy, I almost snap Silas turns to me with a devilish smirk on his face. “Ready to show them how much you love your new husband, Elara?. Take off the dress. Now.
