Ariana Walker
I don't know why I'm not feeling too good today. I think I'll have to stay back at home today. I'll go to school by tomorrow. Sitting on the edge of my bed, I try to read a novel to get myself distracted from thinking about Roan, but my mind keep wandering off to think about him. It's obvious that he doesn't even care about me, but my heart keeps yearning for him and I can't just help this feeling.
His words keep hurting me each time I think about it, but there's nothing I can do about it and it hurts a lot. After the incident a few days ago, I have been ignoring Alex. I mean, he betrayed me, so why should I still be friends with him? Yes, we're brothers and also like best friends, just that he's annoying. I wonder why he would still lie to me that he's not the one, even after what he did. I mean, he's the only one that knows my feelings for Roan, so it's obvious that he must've been the one that told father about it.
The thought of that monster, alpha Dean flash through my mind and I sigh deeply, crashing my back against the bed while staring up at the ceiling. I'm not a bad person, but for someone that have existed for so long, I wish he can just die already.
The sound of the knock on my door pull me back to reality and I sit up on the bed. The door open and Alex walk in even before I usher him in. I roll my eyes and turn my face away. What does he want here?
"What do you want? I thought I made it clear to you to stay away from me?" I speak grumpily and he sigh.
"Come on, Ari. You can't say that, OK? You can't be like this, please. Are you ever going to listen to me?" He sound frustrated and I scoff, turning my attention to him.
"No, I will never listen to your lies, never!" I spit out and he sigh.
"You still don't believe that I'm not the one that told father, do you? Come on, you should've known the kind of person I am by now. You know that I would never betray anyone, let alone my sister, OK? I care about you so much, and knowing how you would feel, I would never have thought of doing that to you," He sound innocent, but I don't believe him. If he wasn't the one that told father, then who the hell did?
"I want to be alone," I stand up from the bed and stride over to the window side, staring out of the room.
"I came to discuss something with you, Ari," He sound nervous and I tilt my head to look at him. I know my brother very well and more than anyone else knows him, and I know when he's disturbed. The look on his face explains it all. He's having something in his mind.
"I'm not interested," As much as I am curious to know what would be making him look so troubled, I'm still mad at him and won't let my curiosity get the best of me.
"Come on, Ariana. It's about Chloe," I snap my head to look at him at the mention of that and I sigh, giving him a 'go ahead' look.
"Uhm...the thing is, last week something happened at the school and I feel I should talk about it with her," His words are not clear enough, but from what I sense, his confession must have got something to do with Chloe's weird attitude lately. For the past few days, Chloe have been acting weird. She doesn't go out like she used to, but prefers to stay in the class. Chloe that I used to know, will find every opportunity to see Alex, but I haven't seen or hear her talk about my brother lately. At first, I thought maybe she was just taking a break, but it seems like there's more to it than I have suspected.
"What's it?" I ask so he can explain better.
"Come on, it's not everything you should know about, hun. I just need your help to see her. She has been keeping at arms length and also been ignoring my calls and messages too. I just want to see her and make some things clear to her. It's not something serious," I pull a puzzled look as I watch him talk. This isn't the Alex I used to know. Alex is a stoned hearted young man that doesn't care about other people, but what's going on that he suddenly wants to explain something to my friend? That's not my business, though.
"I'm not interested. At least not until you tell me what's happening," He sigh softly and ruffle his hair. He look so embarrassed and that alone tells me that he must've done something naughty.
"Fine...fine. Alright, the thing is...last week I was having fun with a female student in an empty classroom...it wasn't something serious...I mean, we were just having fun, you know what I mean and..."
"And Chloe walked in on you, right?" I cut him off and he turn his face away. I stare at him suspiciously, wondering why he wants to explain to her, even if she walked in on them. I mean, the last time I remember, Alex doesn't explain himself to anyone. His previous flings always walk in on him having s*x with another woman and he never cared about how they feel, but why does he look so guilty and wants to explain to her? I would've conclude that he has fallen in love with her, but that's the last thing that's possible. I mean, for someone that have sworn not to ever be with just one woman, it's not possible to fall in love. He doesn't even believe that love does exits, so far from that.
"Come on, don't give me that look. Are you gonna help me?" He whines, holding my hand and I sigh softly. An idea sudden struck my mind and a smirk lace up my lips...
