At first, I rejected the offer, but then after she explained why dad made the decision, I had to agree with it. So I'm starting school soon and not just any school, but the most popular college in Europe, Magic College.
Well, I haven't been to the school once in my life, but I have heard so much about it. Magic college is said to be filled with students born with magical powers only. There are werewolves in the school and other magic creatures like demons and witches, but of course, since demons and werewolves are sworn enemies, they are kept away from each other. I don't know if this is a good idea, but I wouldn't know if I don't give it a try, right?
It's Sunday today, the only day I get to spend time with my parents. This is what I do on Sundays, I usually go to the castle to have some time with my parents.
Taking one last glance at myself in the mirror, I take a deep breath and pick up my car keys from the dressing table. I stride out of the room afterward. I have everything I want, money, good look, expensive cars, name it all, but the only thing I wish I have is happiness. Money indeed cannot buy everything, because if money could buy happiness, then I wouldn't be lacking it.
Walking gracefully through the hallway, I head straight to the living room downstairs and as soon as I walk in, Giselle rushes toward me. This girl seems to be the only problem I have here. I wonder why mom and dad had to choose her of all people to be my maid.
"Greetings, my prince," She bows slightly, and I only nod my head as I keep walking to the exit door.
"What should I make for lunch, my prince?" She asks, and I sigh softly. Will she ever cease to frustrate me? I don't think so.
"Just make anything, Giselle," I reply to her, and finally storm out of the house. I finally drive out of the house afterward.
As I drive the down the road, the thought of my miserable life fills my mind. I think the pain I'm suffering is worse than death. At times I do think of taking my life, but what will become the fate of my parents? How will they be able to take the pain of losing their only child?
After an hour and a half drive, I finally drive into the compound of the magnificent castle, which is the biggest and the most beautiful castle in Europe. Parking at the garage, I hop out of the car and walk elegantly to the stairs that lead to the veranda. The guards keep bowing to me as I walk elegantly along the veranda, but I ignore them. I'm in no mood for that now. You may be thinking that I'm arrogant, but the truth is that I am not. I used to be this friendly and soft-minded easy-going guy, but everything changed after I found out that I was cursed. Yeah, I am cursed, that's how I can put it. I became this frustrated young guy, I started keeping my distance from people and in no time, I became a loner. The only friend I have is my pillow and my phone, they're the only things that keep me company at the penthouse.
Heading straight to dad's chambers, the guards in front of his door bow to me as soon as I get close. Stopping in front of the door, I place a soft knock on it, announcing my presence and after a few minutes he ushers me in.
I push the door open, and there he is, sitting on one of the chairs that is arranged around a table in his large room while having his gaze on a book he is holding.
"Greetings, Your Highness..." I bow and greet him as I've always done.
"Roan..." He calls in his usual blank voice and after a few seconds, he finally raises his gaze to look at me. His amber eyes are the most perfect pair of eyes I've ever seen, his raven hair is curled on his head with some strands on his forehead as usual. I'm not surprised, that's how dad always styles his hair. His smooth and flawless skin is glowing as usual. I wonder how he still manages to maintain his perfect look, even in this old age of his. Dad is about seventy-two years old. I know you may be wondering how come I'm his only son and also this young, considering his age, but his story is kind of complicated, so I won't go into that, at least not now.
"Yes, dad," I reply to him, sitting across from him on the other chair. I guess mom must be in her chambers and if not, she must be taking care of something personal. I'll fetch her later, but for now, I'll be with dad.
"So, how're you doing?" He asks me, as he takes his attention to me fully for the first time since I got in here.
"I'm fine," I reply to her. An awkward silence assumes the air, and I bet that I know what he is thinking.
"Uhm... About Magic..."
"It's fine, dad. Mom already told me about it and I've decided to attend school. Who knows, maybe I may get help from there," I cut him off, and he nods his head slowly. We talk about random things and after what seemed like forever, I finally left to see mom.
By the time I left the castle, it was already getting late so I just went back to the penthouse to have some rest.
Time flies fast as it's already Monday morning. Staring back at me from the mirror, dressed in a white short sleeves button-down shirt, with a tie knotted up the neck, a pair of black trousers fitted on his waist, and a pair of black sneakers fitted on his feet, is my reflection. I'm all dressed for school.
Letting out a deep sigh, I pick up my car keys from the center table in my room, then hang my backpack on my shoulder, before leaving the room.
I got to the school a few minutes ago. The journey to the school wasn't so hectic as it was just for a few minutes and I got to the school. The school turned out to be more beautiful than the image I had seen in magazines. I managed to find my way to the admin's office, where I collected a map of my supposed class.
Following the damn map, I finally manage to locate my supposed classroom, whose door is closed. I push the door open, and the crowd of students welcomes me in. They're sitting in their respective seats. Did I forget to mention this? I hate crowds, and I don't like being in a crowded place.
"You're the new student the principal was talking about? You're welcome to Magic college, please introduce yourself," The teacher in the class says to me, shining his brown teeth at me and I scoff with an eye roll. Why do I need to introduce myself?
"My name is Roan Vandette. I don't like making friends, I hate people bothering me and I hate noise. Come close to me at your own risk," I say to them sincerely, and they start mumbling.
"You're welcome to join us, Roan. Over there is your seat," He gestures toward a seat, and I start walking toward the seat but I stop as someone catches my attention. It's the young lady I met at the mall days ago. What is she doing here?...
