Her words keep ringing in his head repeatedly as he drives on the road. He keeps scoffing and shaking his head. He has been trying to get that off his head, but the more he tries to, the more it keeps disturbing his head. That couldn't have been the reason she took that risk earlier, right?
He suddenly pulls over at the roadside and hit the steering wheel before ruffling his hair like he's going crazy. It can't be possible that she loves him, he doesn't even believe in love, he doesn't believe that exists, so why should she say that?
The image of the white wolf pops up in his head and he sighs briefly, throwing his head on the headrest. He has just been trying to get it off his head knowing that he may never see it again, but he still can't do it as he always finds himself thinking about the wolf. He keeps wondering where it is from and why it's always showing up to help him.
The sound of his ringing phone pulls his attention, and he sighs deeply as he already knows who would be on the line. Of course, the only person that does call him is Giselle and his parents when they were still alive. Aside from these three, he never receives calls from anyone else. What were you expecting from someone that doesn't make friends or talk to people?
"What's it, Giselle?" He asks frustratingly as soon as he slides the answer button.
"Greetings, my lord. Someone is here to see you," Her voice sounds from the other end, and he brings down his phone from his ear to check the caller again. For the past years that he has lived in that penthouse, no one ever came to ask of him aside from his late parents, and to think that someone he has no idea of, is said to be looking for him there, makes him think otherwise.
"Alright, I'll be there," He ends the call afterward and drop the phone on the seat next to the driver's seat. He starts the car engine and zooms off. As he drives down the route that leads to his house, the thought of who the person might be keep haunting his mind, but he convinces himself to be calm and find out when he gets to the penthouse.
After a few minutes of driving on the expressway, he finally takes the last route that leads to his penthouse. The route is more of a deserted area with no single person passing by. It seems like he's the only one that the route is designed for. He drives speedily along the route, but he suddenly matches on the brake and the car makes a loud screech before it finally halts abruptly. There's a figure that just appeared in from of the car. The figure is tall and wearing a black cloak that covers all parts of his body.
He tightens his hands on the steering wheel as he stares at the figure, a strong wave of fear shoots at him. He gulps down the sudden lump that forms in his throat for the third time. Seeing the creature in front of his car, he knows that he's in for some trouble. For the next seconds, his hands trembles on the steering wheel as beads of sweat ball on his forehead. He sulks in his bottom lip.
He knows that creature wants him to come down from the car, but there's no way he was going to do that, knowing what will happen if he dares to try it.
The figure suddenly starts walking toward his car, and he melts on his seat as his whole body becomes jelly in fear. With every step that the figure takes, he feels doom drawing close to him and he can only be scared.
He watches as the man suddenly stops abruptly and turns swiftly. It's unclear to Roan why he suddenly stops and turns around, but it is to his advantage. Still wondering why the sudden change in the man's action, something caught his attention. It's the white wolf, it came to save him again...
Roan Vandette
My mouth drop open in shock at the sight of the white wolf. She came to save me again, she came! I watch as the man glare at her dangerously as though he's going to devour her anytime soon. The sudden fear of her getting hurt spurs through me, and as if something pushed me, I step out of the car boldly. There's no way I'll let her get hurt because of me, and who knows, this may be the opportunity to know who she is and why she's always showing up to save me when I'm in hard times.
The man suddenly starts walking slowly and steadily toward the wolf, but she doesn't seem like she's scared of him, as she glares at him menacingly with the most dangerous look on her face.
"Do...don't touch her!" The man suddenly halts upon hearing my voice. For the next seconds, it feels as though the whole world went still. He suddenly turns to face me, and I flinch in fear. My heart almost jumps out of my body through my mouth, but I have to be brave for the sake of the wolf. She has saved me a lot of times, and I should stand up for her now.
The man starts taking steps toward me and I gulp down the lump in my throat. I stop abruptly as something catches my attention, it's a familiar pearl necklace. Memories of weeks ago came playing in my head as realization dawn on me. The pearl necklace is the same as the one I saw around that black wolf's neck, the one that attacked me that night. Don't tell me he's the one. I pay wrapt attention to his scent and his aura, and they're the same thing. My fear increases as I keep walking back until my butt is pressing hard against my car. What does he want from me?
He finally gets to me and I freeze on the spot as I shut my eyes tightly, anticipating my death...
