From the day I set my eyes on him at the mall, I've been thinking about him crazily. It's a good thing he's now in my class. At least, I can get to see him every day.
"You look happy, who's making you blush?" I didn't notice that Alex is already in my room, standing behind me. I flinch, holding my chest in fright. Gosh! He startled me.
"What was that, huh? You startled me," I roll my eyes at him, going to pick up my backpack from the bed. I'm all ready for school, I just need to drop by Chloe's house and pick her up for school.
"Come on, Ari. I was just..."
"Oh, please," I roll my eyes, storming out of my room, and leaving him behind. Alex is my elder brother and the only sibling I have. We grew up together, and unlike me, Alex is one hell of a grumpy young man. He is cold and fierce, he's one of the strongest warriors in the pack, but he loves and protects me like his life depend on it.
After having breakfast with the family, I drive out of the house and straight to Chloe's apartment to pick her up. We head to school afterward.
"You haven't been in school, you won't believe who the new student is," I smile, not taking my eyes off the road.
"Not that I care to know, though," She rolls her eyes, and I chuckle softly. I'm used to her being like this. The only person she cares about is my brother and every other man never interests her. But too bad that my brother doesn't even care about her feelings. What do I expect from a playboy that doesn't even care to find his mate? Yes, Alex is not bothered about finding his mate, because he doesn't even want to have one. I remember him telling me that he doesn't want to devote his life to just one woman for the rest of his life when he's not mad. My brother is indeed a crazy asshole.
"Well, if you care to know, it's the guy we met at the mall weeks ago," I smile excitedly. I've just been acting crazy recently, especially talking about him. I don't know what this feeling is, but I feel so elated each time I think of him, and there's this invisible bond that keeps drawing me close to him. The strange thing about this is that I've completely gotten rid of the crush I had on alpha Vandette's son.
"You're just too unbelievable, Ari. First, it was alpha Vandette's son that you haven't even met all your life, and now a stranger? Oh, please! You're full of surprises," She scoffs, looking out through the window while I chuckle softly.
"It's not my fault that I have taste for cute guys, right?" I roll my eyes, taking the last direction that leads to the school.
After driving for a few more minutes, I finally drive into the school compound and park neatly in the garage.
We head to the class afterward, but Roan's seat is empty.
"Where's he?" I wonder, going to my seat.
Seconds tick into minutes and he's yet to be in class. At this point, I'm beginning to worry about him. I pick up my phone and scroll through the contacts, hoping that I would find his number and maybe call him to know why he's not in school, but I know that there's no magic power for that. How can I contact him, when I don't even have his number? I don't think he has a friend or family in the school, so I'm just going to stay back here and pray that all is well with him.
"You look disturbed, are you OK?" Chloe asks when she notices that I keep looking in the direction of the entrance door.
"Are you expecting someone?" She questions further, glancing at the door and back to me, wearing a puzzled and questioning look.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I was just..., it's nothing," I dismiss her question and pray she doesn't ask me further questions. I'm already going through some s**t here, worrying about Roan, and answering some questions is the last thing on my mind.
She stares at me suspiciously for seconds, then shrugged and face her front.
It was a long day for me, but the school has finally been dismissed and I'll just head back home to have some rest. Chloe has already gone home earlier, she told me something needs her attention back at home, so I'll be going home alone today.
I pack up my backpack and hang it over my shoulder before leaving the class to the parking lot. I almost scream at the top of my voice, as I behold an empty space. My car is nowhere to be found. What the heck is happening here?
"Security! Security!" I yell angrily, and the security rush over to where I'm standing.
"Yes ma'am," He bows slightly.
"What's going on here? Where's my car?" I question, getting pissed at the whole drama going on. I'm an easy-going girl and as well a crazy personality, I'm sure no one would be so draft to think of messing with me.
"I don't understand, ma'am," He looks confused.
"I parked a black Lambo here earlier today, but I can't find it now,"
"Someone drove a black Lambo out of the compound just a few minutes ago," He replies, and I ruffle my hair crazily. Alex is at it now. He is the only one that can do something like that because he has spare keys to almost all the cars in the mansion. Why would he do that? He came to school with his own car, why would he take mine?
"You can go," I say to the security man and pick up my phone to call my annoying brother.
"Hey Ari," A familiar masculine voice calls me from behind, and I close my eyes briefly as waves of anger spark through me. It's the person I hate the most, Jeremy...
