Chapter 15
"You're nothing, but a weakling!"
"Even if you don't care about the innocent lives that was lost, don't you care about your parents?"
"Prove to us that you're not a human!" Their words keeps replaying in my head, as I sit on the edge of my head and burying my face in my palms. I've been trying to get their words off my head and think straight, but nothing seem to be working. I'm losing mind, their words are driving me crazy.
Aren't they right? Of course, they are. I'm a weakling, I am nothing, but a disgrace to my parents. Why didn't I die instead? Why didn't I lose my life instead of them? Why did they die in my place?
The thought of telling them the truth spur through me, but I quickly decide against it. That'll be the worst mistake of my life, they're going to kick me out of here, if I dare to tell them the truth. But the question is, for how long will I be able to hide this? I don't think it'll take long before they catch me.
"My lord, Octavia," Octavia's voice disrupts my thoughts, and I sigh deeply.
"Come in," The door opens seconds later and she walks in. She is wearing a long white loose gown, with the back sweeping the ground. Her skin is flawless as always, and she has a little or no makeup on her face. Octavia is one of the beautiful women I've seen so far, and I've come to know her as a supportive woman. She has been there for me all these time that I've been going through this s**t, and she has given me a shoulder to lean on. But there's a problem, I don't just feel any spark between us.
"Greetings, my lord," She bows slightly, and I nod.
"I heard about what happened. Are you OK?" She asks worriedly, taking a seat beside me on the bed.
"I'm fine," I'm good at hiding my emotions, so it'll be difficult for her to tell if I'm OK or not. The last thing I want now, is getting anyone worried about me.
"You're not fine, my lord. Talk to me," She takes my hand and caress it softly, like she's trying to force the words gently out of me. I sigh softly. I really need someone to talk to, but can I trust her? This is the time I need my mom the most, she's the only one that understands my pain, she's the only one that I trust and the only one that'll comfort me, no matter how difficult it'll seem to be. I wasn't taught how to trust anyone else.
"Can I trust you?" I ask, staring into her eyes. I know I shouldn't be doing this, but I really need someone to talk to, I really need to let this off my chest. Who knows, I might just get better if I talk to her. For the next few minutes, I rethink about the decision I'm about to make, but then something keeps pushing me to give it a chance and see if it'll work out, just this once.
"You can trust me, my lord," She assures me.
"I...I...I have a...problem," I stutters nervously and gulp down the sudden lump that forms in my throat. She pull a questioning and worried look, the look on her face tells me a lot about what's going on in her mind, she's curious, I can see that through her.
"I am..." I pause, not knowing how to say this to her. I don't just know how to present it to her.
"You're what, my lord?" She questions, curiosity resounding in her voice...
Author POV
Octavia walks briskly along the hallway. She's having a black scarf over her head, disguising her. She looks around before she finally takes the last turn in the hallway that leads to nowhere. Her action shows that she's up to something.
She walks briskly along the hallway till she gets to a door and she pushes it open, walking inside afterward.
A young man dress in a dark blue gown sits on a comfy chair, his eyes are closed as if he's meditating.
"Greetings, father," Octavia greets him with a slight bow, causing the man to snap his eyes open, revealing his golden eyes that glows even in the dark room.
"You're finally here," He sounds like he has been waiting for her for some time now.
"What did you find?" The man asks anxiously, standing up and turning around to face Octavia.
"Prince Roan has a secret, father. He's cursed. He was born wolfless," The man narrows his eyes at the news he just heard. Slowly, his lips twitch into a dirty smirk.
"This is interesting," Excitement speaks volume in his voice and he suddenly burst into a hysterical laughter.
"I guess my mission is done, father?" She asks, and the man nods slowly.
"You're free now, and I'm proud of you," He smile softly. Octavia bows and walks out of the room.
Roan's room...
It's already morning, and Roan is lying on his bed and staring at the ceiling. All through the night, he couldn't bring himself to sleep. His mind has been filled with so many thoughts, and for some reason, he regrets why he told Octavia his secret.
"Greetings, my lord," A feminine voice disrupts his thought from outside, and he sighs deeply, sitting up on the bed.
"May I come in to prepare your bath?" The feminine voice echoes again.
"Come in," The door open upon hearing this, and two maid walks inside. They bows to him and walks into the bathroom afterwards. A few minutes later, they both come outside and announces to him that the water is ready.
He walks into the bathroom, while the maids wait outside for him to have his bath, so they can dress him up.
A few minutes later, he walks back into the room with a towel hanging around his waist dangerously as his hair drips wet. His abs are the perfect sight to behold, his hair clings to his head, making him hot.
The maids takes their time to dress him up and after they're done, they both exits the room...
