Test

"My lord, do you want to eat anything?" Giselle asks once she comes back from my bathroom. I didn't know how she knew that I was outside the gate, but she showed up to help me inside. I sit on the edge of the bed while burying my face in my palms as I drift into deep thoughts. "I'm not hungry," I replied grumpily. I hope she knows that I want to be alone. "My lord, you can't..." "I want to be alone, Giselle," I cut her off. She bows and exits the room afterward. I sigh briefly, crashing on the bed and staring up at the ceiling. Everything just sucks and it's driving me crazy. I'm only going to wallow in pain if I stay back here, so I think resuming school soon, will be the best thing to do. I'm going to do my investigation later on. All through the day, I confine myself in the room and refuse to go out. I have been on my body phone, doing nothing else. How time flies, it's finally Monday, the day I'll resume school. I stand in front of the mirror, fully dressed and checking myself out. A few minutes later, I pick up my car keys from the bed and exit the room. Descending the stairs, the aroma of delicious food welcomes me, but too bad that I'm not planning to have breakfast today. I have not had an appetite for a couple of days now, so I haven't been eating food. "Greetings, my lord. I was going to call you for breakfast," Giselle bows slightly when she comes out of the kitchen. She looks exhausted. I guess she must've been busy with the house chores and cooking too. She has been by my side all these while that I've been having a hard time. Not that I trust her though. Though we've been together almost all my life, with her serving me, but anything can happen anytime. I will never trust anyone again, not after what Octavia did to me. "I won't have breakfast. I'm late for school," I check my wristwatch. Not that I am late really, but I don't just want to eat. "It's still very early, my lord. Do you mind me packing it up for you? You can eat it later when you get to the school," She further says, and I sigh softly. "Alright, I'll just have a bite," Knowing she won't let me off easily, I have to eat the food and leave for school. I walk over to the dining area, where the food is already served on the table and I sit down to eat. Though my appetite is messed up, I still manage to enjoy the taste of the food. Giselle is one of the best cooks I've met so far. After I am done eating, I leave for school afterward. The drive to the school isn't so long and hectic. Driving into the school compound, I park neatly at the garage and head to the building afterward. Though it has been a while since I was last here, everything still looks the same, nothing has changed a bit. I head to the admin's office to let him know that I've resumed school and after signing some papers, I finally head to the class. It's almost difficult to locate my class, as I only came to school for a day and stopped coming for over a month now. Stepping into the class, the sight of the annoying girl welcomes me. What's that her name again? I think Ariana or something like that. No, not again. Why do I have to see her in class today? "Roan!" She squeaks excitedly as soon as she sights me, but I ignore her and walk over to my seat. She now has a seatmate and I'm extremely happy about that. At least, she won't bother me again. But too bad that my new seat is just behind her. "Wow! I'm so happy you're finally here. How have you been?" She questions, having that smile on her face, but I just ignore her and rest my head on the wall, staring out into the garden. Memories of my mother and father keep flowing in my mind and my heart aches at their absence. Tears threaten to fall from my eyes, but I fight them back. There's no way I would cry in school, right? At least not in the presence of this annoying girl. "Do you know that I haven't been coming to school lately? Gosh! The class was so boring without you, so I found it difficult to come to school again," She whines, staring at me with that foolish smile on her face. I don't think she's serious with her studies, because if she is, she won't even think of skipping school because of me. Come to think of it, why is she in school today? Or did she know that I would be resuming school today? "I wouldn't have come today either, but because of the test that's starting today, I was forced to come here. But my day is brightened now," She winks at me, and my heart flusters. What the heck was that? Wait! Did she just say 'test?' No! This is not happening. "Test?" I speak to her for the first time since I walked inside, and she narrows her eyes. "Wait! Did you just talk to me?" She gasps sharply, cupping her cheeks and smiling. This girl is full of craziness, and I think I'm not going to last for hours here if she keeps up with this. "I just asked a question," I remind her coldly. "Uhm... Yes, there's a test today, and it's starting soon. It's the test I was telling you about a couple of weeks ago. This is the first stage of tests for freshers, where they test their abilities to know what they're good at, and in such a way, the magic teachers would know which area to coach them. Don't worry, it's fun," She explains and I suddenly become nervous. For someone like me that has no magical powers, I think I'm going to end up being thrown out shamefully out of the school. "Are you OK? You look disturbed," She questions, and I stare at her for seconds before turning my face away. If I had known, I wouldn't have bothered to come here in the first place. I can imagine how they're all going to humiliate me later. The sound of the door clicking pull my attention, and that's when I notice that someone just walked inside the class. I look in the direction of the door, and my eyes almost pop out of their sockets at the sight I behold, it's Octavia. What's she doing here?...
