Two days passed and still there had been no attack upon her to force her to get them the evidence they needed. Rance said he saw them heading back towards Bull Creek, but if that were true, then they had found the perfect hiding spot as Lainie had searched as much of the area as she could and came up empty. She sat in a rocker on her front porch, a cup of English breakfast tea warming her hands, dressed only in a flimsy tank and some silky pajama shorts as she stared out at the woods surrounding her cabin.
