“He’s insufferable,” Lainie spat as she reached for her coffee. She had joined Alanna and Eve for an early lunch, and of course, the first thing out of the others’ mouths were questions about the detective from Pensacola. “I swear, I think he’s purposefully trying to screw up my murder case.” “But didn’t you say it connected to his case back in Pensacola?” Eve asked. “Wouldn’t that mean it was his case first?” Lainie glared at the smaller woman. If there was one thing she didn’t need, it was for her friends to be on Rance’s side. “The man died in my jurisdiction.
