It had been weeks since Sylvia had last seen Evans, but the memory of their last meeting stayed strong in her mind. He was a man of steel, with walls so thick that even her gift couldn’t penetrate them. As she entered his office, the familiar sight of dark wood and floor-to-ceiling windows greeted her. Evans sat at his desk, his sharp features illuminated by the soft glow of a desk lamp.
