I stood there with his face in my hands. I watched as the portal to Hades took his soul and then closed, leaving me with an emptiness I never thought imaginable. I was gasping for breath as I cried my heart out.
“No! Give him back,” I screamed.
I gasped to fill my lunges as I sobbed and cried out, “Please! Give him back.”
I placed my hands and face on his now still chest and cried out, “please, don’t leave me.”
I felt Aziel’s hand on my back trying to sooth me the best he could as he pet my black feathers. After several minutes of my loud crying over Calum’s lifeless body, I looked up at Aziel while shedding every tear I had built up.
