By the time I got back with fresh meat and vegetables from the super mart, Nadia had fallen asleep.
"She fell asleep on an empty stomach," I mumbled under my breath before going to the kitchen to offload what I had bought.
I prepared the meat then added soup to make it more healthy for her. She looked malnourished and pale, her current state made me wonder if she was maltreated at her home.
