DOMINIC'S POV The next morning, I closed Ruby’s door quietly, careful not to make a sound. She’d finally drifted off to sleep after what felt like hours of her restless tossing and turning. I stood in the hallway for a moment, letting out a slow breath. For the first time that morning, the house felt still and peaceful. But not for long.
