Akira and Kaid's hug was interrupted by a knock at the door. It was Akira's father.
"Kaid, can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked, his voice smooth as silk.
Kaid hesitated, but Akira's father's expression was persuasive. "Sure," he said, stepping outside.
Akira watched as her father whispered something in Kaid's ear. She couldn't hear what he was saying, but she knew it couldn't be good.
As Kaid listened, his expression changed from concern to doubt. Akira's heart sank as she realized what was happening.
"Kaid, don't listen to him," she said, but Kaid held up a hand.
"Akira, I need to think about this," he said, his voice firm.
Akira felt a surge of anger. "Think about what? My father's lies?"
Kaid's expression turned defensive. "Akira, I'm just trying to understand the situation."
But Akira knew that her father had already manipulated him. She could see it in his eyes, the way he was doubting her again.
"You're not understanding anything," she said, her voice rising. "My father is a liar, and he's manipulating you."
Kaid's face reddened. "Akira, that's not fair. I'm just trying to be objective."
But Akira knew that objectivity was just a excuse. Her father had gotten to him, and now Kaid was turning against her.
"You're not objective," she said, her voice cold. "You're just a pawn in my father's game."
Kaid's eyes narrowed. "That's not true," he said, his voice firm.
But Akira knew that it was. She could see it in his eyes, the way he was doubting her.
The argument escalated until they were both shouting at each other. Akira's heart was racing, her anger and frustration boiling over.
"How can you believe him?" she demanded. "He's a monster, Kaid. He's hurt me my whole life."
But Kaid just shook his head. "I don't know what to believe, Akira. You're both saying different things."
Akira felt a wave of despair wash over her. She realized that she was never going to win this argument.
With a sob, she turned and ran upstairs, locking herself in her room. She threw herself on her bed, tears streaming down her face.
She couldn't believe that Kaid was doing this to her. She thought he loved her, but now she realized that she was just a pawn in his game.
As she lay there, she heard the door slam downstairs. Kaid had left, and Akira was alone once again.
She cried for hours, her heart shattered into a million pieces. She had thought that she had found someone who believed her, someone who would stand by her no matter what.
But now, she realized that she was wrong. Kaid was just like everyone else, someone who would turn against her when things got tough.
As the night wore on, Akira's tears finally dried up. She lay in bed, her eyes empty and hollow.
She knew that she would never be able to trust anyone again. Her father had seen to that.
With a heavy heart, Akira drifted off to sleep, her world shattered and broken.
