"Welcome, Kate," they said, their voice low and soothing. "I've been waiting for you. My name is Raven, and I'm here to help you understand the shadows that bind."

Kate's mind reeled as Raven began to explain the secrets of the shadows. She learned about the ancient powers that lurked in the darkness, and the mysterious forces that bound them to the human world.
