To a harbor and beyond

After Perros and his gang finally freed Westernfield from the clutches of the pathetic leader. They headed southeast to find a harbour where they could acquire a ship and sail to the neighbouring territory. There lies the village of Mori. "So where did you three meet?" Bruno asked curiously. "It's a long story..." Nazo said. "No it isn't..." Perros said doubtfully. "I went on my journey to become a Bandazai and I Nazo in a saloon in Bucle, where he was finding his sister Cyra. Something else happened... we freed your town and now we're here..." He added. "This is quite something..." Bruno said in amazement. Perros nodded his head several times. "And it wasn't a long story either." Perros chuckled. Nazo, who was driving, gave him an annoyed look. "So Cyra was it?" Bruno asked. "By any chance, do you happen to have a partner?" He added. "Well..." Cyra was interupted by Nazo. "No she doesn't and you are not going to be the first one!" Nazo was mad. "Excuse me?!" Cyra was angry. "That's something for me to decide..." She added. "Well, you're not old enough to be dating." Nazo objected. "Duh, I am?" Cyra replied. "And I'm not going to talk to you about something like that..." She added, putting on a pouting face. "I'll take that as a no..." Bruno said quietly. There was an awkward silence. Bruno looked guiltily at Perros. "So Bruno, are you sure we can 'borrow' a boat at that harbour?" Perros asked. "Yeah, I have an old friend there..." Bruno said. "We always used to buy fish there." He added. "Nice, we get a boat and even meet new people..." Perros said excitedly. "Isn't that awesome, Nazo?" He added. "If you say so..." Nazo said while focusing on the road. The route from Westernfield to the harbour takes about one day with one stop for sleeping. "And since we have our own chef..." Perros said. "He can cook us a good dinner." He added, licking his lips. "I'm flattered, but don't expect much from a campfire." Bruno blushed. "Give me about thirty minutes..." He added, and went to check their supplies. "So what do we have here..." Bruno thought to himself. Apart from Bruno, who was preparing dinner, the others went to look around. Since it was cold, they didn't go that far and after a while they returned to the finished meal. "Mmm, something smells delicious!" Cyra looked at the campfire. "What is it? What is it?" Perros asked eagerly. "So first I'll introduce my dish, then I'll name it, and then I'll serve it to you." Bruno said caringly. "Hurry up!" Perros couldn't wait. "Because we have a lot of new ingredients, I had to use older, but still good ones. I present to you meat with apple sauce, or as I have newly named it... viande." Bruno said patiently. "There's a piece for everyone, please help yourself." He added and opened the pot. The scent they all smelled before became stronger. Everyone except Bruno was amazed at how delicious it looked and that he had made something like this in the wild. They all gathered around the fire and took their share. "It's... so... GOOD!" Perros was in heaven. "So juicy." Cyra took a bite. "It really is..." Nazo's mouth was full. "Thank you guys...." Bruno blushed. "But let's not forget the other two..." He added, turning to Delgado and Dumpster and giving each of them an apple. He got a hearty thank you from them. After a while of enjoying the delicious meal Bruno prepared. "Maybe it needed potatoes..." Bruno thought. "I think it was good the way it was." Cyra smiled. "After this, I'm ready for sleep." Perros yawned and fell asleep. "It was really delicious, Bruno, thank you." Nazo said and went to get ready for sleep as well. Bruno extinguished the campfire and went to sleep. Cyra likewise. Following the morning they woke up refreshed and still a bit full. "Shall we go?" Perros stretched. "Breakfast?" Bruno asked temptingly. "I don't want to turn down your offer, Bruno." Nazo said as he boarded the stagecoach. "But we could hurry up..." He added, holding out his hand for Cyra to get on. "Mhm, let's go then..." Bruno said and got on as well. A few hours later they could already see the sea beyond the horizon. "Look at that..." Perros said in amazement. "It's the sea!" He added. " Yeah, it's a beautiful sight..." Bruno agreed. "It's been a long time since I've seen anything so beautiful." Cyra said with almost teary eyes. Nazo glanced at her and smiled. It wasn't long before they arrived at the town with the harbor. "This is Seaward, a town deeply connected to Westernfield." Bruno explained. Seaward is about the same size as the town of Bucle, with the addition of a harbour. "Bruno!" An unfamiliar voice came from the harbour. Everyone looked there, but only Bruno recognized that voice. "Marco!" Bruno shouted back happily. Marco came closer. "It's been a long time..." Marco smiled. "I'm sure it has." Bruno replied. "Yeah, these are my friends." He added. "Hi everyone, my name is Marco." Marco bowed. "And the boat is ready if you don't want to stop here." He added. "How did you know we'd want a boat?" Perros asked. "Ehm, Bruno called me?" Marco said. "How come, you couldn't hear him from that far." Perros doubted it. "Perros, via telephone..." Bruno said, showing him a device that Perros didn't know. "Telephone?" Perros and Cyra were confused. "I heard about this... It's some kind of device that you speak into and your voice can travel a great distance." Nazo mused. "Basically, yes. I called Marco and told him we'll be arriving at the Seaward in about two days and we'll need a boat." Bruno said. "So telephone, hmm..." Perros wondered. "Marco, where can I buy one?" He added "You can buy one in town here, but its pretty expensive... about 5000 minies." Marco said. "Do you have enough money?" He added doubtfully. Perros jumped down from the stagecoach and handed him a single gold bar. "Go buy it for me, will you?" Perros smiled. "Oh, and you can keep the change..." He added with a wink. "Okay, t-thanks." Marco said in surprise. "Perros, you can't just give away that much money. With that one gold bar you could buy like 100 of them!" Bruno said quietly. "Don't worry, that wasn't the last gold bar I gave out..." Perros laughed. After a while they went directly to the harbour where the boat was located. "Are you joking...." Perros said disappointedly. "WE CAN'T ALL FIT IN THERE!" He added. It was a small boat. It would be too small even for the four of them, and they still have Delgado and Dumpster. "We need a bigger boat..." Bruno mused. Right after that, Marco came back with a new telephone for Perros. "Here's your new..." Marco was interrupted by Perros and Bruno. "WHY IS IT SO SMALL!?" They shouted at him. "Eh?..." Marco sounded devastated. "No worries.... we can get you a different one..." He added gloomily. "We meant the boat..." They replied. "Oh, we can get you a different one..." Marco was still gloomily. "And thank you for the telephone..." Perros said and slowly took the phone from Marco's hand. They looked around the harbour and to their luck found a bigger boat. "Now we can all board!" Perros said triumphantly. When they had all their belongings and passengers on board, they were ready to set sail. "If you need any help, call me..." Marco smiled. "But I don't think any of us can sail a ship as big as this..." Perros realized. "So you'll have to come with us..." He added, laughing nervously. "And who says I can sail a boat this size?" Marco shuttered. "And you can't?" Nazo asked. "Of course I can!" Marco said. "Well then..." Perros held out his hand to him. Marco stepped closer and took his hand. "You're coming with us!" He added and pulled him into the boat. Everyone except Marco, who was lying on the floor, untied the boat and somehow sailed out to sea.
