Unspoken Emotions – EPISODE SIX
Gina continued her journey. For some strange reasons, Jeffrey kept popping up in her mind, something she wasn’t happy about.
Jeffrey, on the other hand, was busy going about his normal daily duties.
Time seemed to travel faster. Later that day, Jeffrey sent the adjustments he wanted Gina to make, along with a message: “I hope you’ve arrived safely?”
Gina was with Ella at the time. They were talking and laughing as they always did when Jeffrey’s message came through. Her shining face dimmed immediately, and her beautiful smile faded as she stared at the message. Ella noticed the sudden cold atmosphere. She looked into her friend’s eyes and could feel her rage from that end.
“It’s Jeffrey again, right?” Ella asked in a calm voice.
“Yes. Why is this guy trying to get back into my life, Ella?” Gina asked.
Ella: What makes you think he wants to get back into your life, my dear? You two are just working.
Gina: Working? Then it should end there. The checkups and him always trying to do something for me, it’s something I’m uncomfortable with.
Ella: Just know it’s all about work, please. And then again, you’ve been single all this while because of what he did to you. There’s this saying: “Sometimes the best antidotes are also poisons.”
“What are you trying to say, Ella?” Gina cut in.
Ella reached out for Gina’s hand and placed it on her lap. She continued, “Gina , you are still in pain even though years have passed. That alone shows how much you loved him. Perhaps you should consider giving him a second chance, that is if he is even trying to get back.”
Gina: Second chance! Ella,are you serious right now?
A second chance for another heartbreak? A second chance for another breakup without any explanation?Ella, please, I can’t do that.
Ella: No, my dear, I’m not talking about that kind of second chance...
Gina’s check phone chimed, interrupting Ella then Gina:look caller ID and showed her phone screen to Bernice.
