"The Force Of Chaos"

The Inner Sanctum

The deplorable state of the earth was so devastating that it makes Bruce wonder how it all went wrong so fast, a battle that was supposed to go their way suddenly became a sour, "How did we fail?" a question no one could answer, could the gods have made a mistake in choosen them to fight Chaos? It wasn't supposed to end this way has he put his hands on his head, moved closer to Daisy who was struggling to save Daphne's life, the courage they all felt before facing Chaos dissipated like a gas let loose into the air, Tyrese couldn't hold back his tears as they all knelt beside Daphne who was gasping for air. Daisy put her two hands on a chest in way to charge her back to life, her uncontrollable tears rolled down her cheek like heavy rain droplets "Why can't I save her?" she asked "Why can't I save her?" she said as she cried uncontrollably.

Bruce "No! No! it was not supposed to end this way, what did we do wrong? he said with tears in his eyes while pacing around, Daphne knew she can't hold on much longer as she watched her friends trying to save her life, she opened her mouth to speak but vomitted black blood instead, Paul shocked by the colour of the blood "No guys blood don't do that" he stood up and paced away for while

Bruce "What?"

Paul "Blood don't turn clot that way except you're dead, she's dead guys" he broke down and shed tears regretfully

Tyrese "No somebody do something, we can't lose her" he said hopelessly, Bruce who was busy pacing around moved closer "No we can't lose her" he summoned up.the courage picked her up, spread his wings and flew away into the sky.

Daisy's eyes already turned red from too much tears, she watched Bruce as she flew with Daphne into the sky, she gave out a loud shout "Nooooooo!" she woke up and discovered it was terrible nightmare so real she could almost taste the defeat in her mouth, the thought of it sends fear down her spine, it was the scariest nightmare she ever had.

The door of the sanctum opened and Aphrodite ushered every one in, they couldn't believe their eyes, the sanctum is beyond they imagined it to be, the excitement in their hearts filled the air like a sweet perfume, Daisy couldn't believe her eyes, she couldn't believe she's seeing all the ancient weapons of the gods.

Daisy "Wait is this what I think it is?" She asked in excitement

Aphrodite "Yes it is, all the ancient weapons of the gods that has ever been used in war, most though but not all are now artifacts here" she replied

Tyrese "Are you saying we are in a room filled with all the weapons of war ever used by the gods?"

Aphrodite "Not all exactly, as some of them were lost in battle and could never be found" she replied

Bruce "This is so cool" he said as he moved forward to feel one of the weapon that looks like a thunderbolt

Aphrodite "No don't, that's the thunderbolt of Zeus you don't wanna touch that with your bare hands" she quickly intercepted him, Daphne and Tyrese couldn't help but moved around to admire the collections of the weaponry, ranging from armour vest, to all kinds of weapons that they've never seen before

Daphne "Whooooow!" she said slowly as came to a stop on what looked like a spear with three edges "Wait is that what I think it is?" She asked in an excitement tone

Tyrese "Yes I think, that's the trident of Poseidon, I've seen that before in one of the stories I read" he chuckled as he moved tried to move away

Daphne "I didn't take you for much of a reader" She teased him

Tyrese "You'll be surprised" he smiled and moved closer to her, gazing so intensely into her eyes

Daphne "What?" She asked surprised at the way he was looking at her, Tyrese held her right hands in his left palm as he patted it gently

Tyrese "Has anyone ever told you you have beautiful set of eyes?" He asked like someone who was struck by love, Daphne who didn't care much just removed her hands slowly and answered him nicely but in a sarcastic tone

Daphne "That's kind of my life and I'm tired of it" she answered and walked away slowly but Tyrese caught in before she could move passed him

Tyrese "C'mon" he layed his hand on her shoulder trying to hold her back and continued "I'll never be tired of a beautiful thing like you" he teased, Daphne a little bit enraged tried to control herself before she turned around and looked into his eyes.

Daphne "Listen, I'll advice you back off, don't make me hurt you" she said and walked away

Tyrese "Okay" He said by throwing his hands in the air, Paul moved closer to him and make a mockery of his passes at her.

Paul "Easy there Tiger, she bites aarrrrhhh!" He said into his ears and walked away chuckling hard

Aphrodite "Gather around everyone, it's time you all see the inner sanctum" she called them together, they all assembled and faced an empty wall, with absolutely no clue of what they were looking at

Daphne "What are we looking at exactly" she asked

Aphrodite "The entrance to the inner sanctum" she swiped her hands on the right side of the wall, there was an holographic quick movement of some sort, she then punched an invisible keypad that only revealed itself when she punched it, she seems to the exact keys she was punching as she paused for a while after she punched four greek buttons, then she punched the last button which was green in colour, before their very eyes the wall pixelated down into series of cascaded waterfall, They all "Wowed!" at the sight of what just happened, Aphrodite smiled and walked in.

Aphrodite "Welcome to the inner sanctum" she walked in slowly as they all followed, the sight of the inner sanctum is even more unbelievable, it looks like an ancient cave with big space in the middle, the walls are carved with some ancient graphics that looks so beautiful but confusing, it's like a mystery to the eyes with greek words and letters every where.

Paul "Woooow" he said admirably "What is this place?" he asked

Aphrodite "This is where you'll all get to know your powers"

Daphne "I've never seen anything like it before, it's so beautiful" she said as she put her hands on the wall to have a feel of the engrafted images on the wall

Bruce "When you say know our powers, how do you mean?"

Aphrodite "As you all would have noticed that some of your powers are revealed, but some you need to be told" she said as they moved closer to her "But for some of you, the full potential of your powers might be triggered by a series of events" she added

Tyrese "Series of event, what's that even supposed to mean?" he asked bluntly

Aphrodite "The mystic god of powers will reveal your powers, but for some it's not all, the crucial ones might still be lying dormant waiting to be triggered"

Tyrese "Ookaay! that's clear enough" he replied in a way that suggest he gave up

Daisy "So how does this work?" she asked

Aphrodite "Well for starters, the big space at the center of the cave is where you all will be, when I give you the go ahead"

Tyrese "Okay, that empty space you mean?" he asked

Aphrodite "Yes but not now, hold on" she stood still and raised her hands up to the sky and chanted some words as they watched.

"lákkos tou exousía" meaning Pit of Power in greek, she said it three times and added "dilotikó" meaning manifest, after she finished the incantations the opened space in the middle of the cave got filled with seven spots like a circle on the floor with some milky force field around them, carving the spots in.

Paul "Now where did that come from?" he asked in a mild tone, as they all moved closer in great amazement of what just happened.

Aphrodite "That is the pit of power, and you all will take a spot, there are seven spots in the pit, each of you will take a spot and the two remaining spot will be occupied by the mystic gods of power who will reveal your powers to you" she said

Tyrese "Wait what?, Did you just say mystic gods of powers"

Aphrodite "Yes Tyrese" she answered politely

Tyrese "No way, I'm sorry I don't want anything to do with mystic" he said as he moved backward

Daisy "Are you backing out?" she asked, Tyrese moved closer to her, spoke to her ears but aloud

Tyrese "We might just end up looking like Mystic, with scales and deformed skin" They all looked at him amazed

"What? Haven't you all seen Mystic in X-Men?" he paused and continued "You've got to be kidding me, I don't want to end up like some freakish looking weirdos"

Bruce started laughing as he moved forward to enter the pit of power

Tyrese "Oh it's funny to you uhhn! I'll be here when you end up looking like Toad or nightcrawler" he said in a confrontational tone and continued "Mhen! you've got to be shitting me, no freaking way" he said sarcastically as he moved forward reluctantly, he watched every other person take their spot in the pit of power, the word mystic freaks him out, the only thing he could think of is being deformed, Aphrodite knowing what his fears were moved closer to him and touched him by the shoulder.

Aphrodite "There's nothing to be afraid of" he consoled him, Tyrese stirred into her eyes, another feeling engulfed him when he felt a soft hand holding his hand, he turned around to see who it was, only to discover it was Daphne, for a moment in time, it felt like heaven, what he felt was beyond his comprehension, the touch of her hand, the passionate look in her eyes sent him to cloud nine, from the goddess of love now to the most beautiful touch in the whole universe, this has got to be love he thought to himself has got ravelled in the quagmire feeling of excitements

Daphne "Let's do this" she said in an exclusively persuasive tone

Tyrese "Yes, with you I'll go anywhere" he replied as he followed behind her foolishly, Aphrodite couldn't help but sense the change in the atmosphere with Tyrese and Daphne, she could sense that Tyrese has fallen way over heels with Daphne as they both took their spot in the pit, of cause it is her duty to know, after all she's the goddess of love and Daphne is her granddaughter, seeing they are all positioned in the pit

Aphrodite "Remember focus on what your life were before you become demigods and it will help you unite your mind with the mystic gods of power, you must stay focused" she added and repositioned herself, raised her two hands to the sky, she began saying some incantations

Aphrodite "mystikistikoí theoí apokalýpto" meaning Mystic gods reveal she said and continued "apokalýpste ton eaftó sas" meaning reveal yourself she added continuously as eyes turned blue and it started feeling like the whole cave is spinning around gently, and shaking subtly, the more she repeats the last statement the more her voice gets deeper like a battalion of soldiers echoing through her together, the effect of her incantations become evident in the pit of power which suddenly became a real pit with purple force field around it, the presence of the mystic gods power became obvious, their appearance created some mystical reactions in the pit, it took the five of them off the ground and paused them half way in the air with their hands spread apart and light gushing out of their eyes and mouth.

Daisy life before she became a demigod flashed before her, every memory from the point where she became a superstar and celebrity, she could feel the hand of the mystic god of power on her head "Daisy Daughter of Apollo, you are the fore-thinker, mystery of prophecy, the archer, healing force and a speedster"

"Bruce son of Ares, you are the god of war, strength of a million god, the power of flight and the wisdom of Zeus"

"Paul the son Hermes You are the master of day & night, a bridge between dimensions, the shape-shifter, the strength and luck in battle"

"The mystic god of power called her name "Daphne" and paused for a while, "Hmmm! the daughter of Aphrodite you are the mystical catalyst, a great warrior, the ability to wield any weapon of war, and touch of life & death"

"Tyrese the son of Hermes you are the master of earth, water and fire, the wind whisperer, the strength of Zeus and the manipulator of elements"

As soon all their powers were revealed they all got dropped on the floor and landed on one knee, they stood with the understanding that something has been triggered in them, without being told they know how to summon their powers individual and are well aware of what each of their powers were, one thing that was personal out of the encounter with mystic gods of power was their weaknesses and the need to tame the demon within them, their encounter has brought a level of self awareness a revelation of their personality and the urgent need to defeat their archenemy "Chaos". They all made a promise to the mystic gods of power not to feed their inner demons, it is sacrosanct for each of them to vanquish and expunge the devilish little side of them that might eat them up from the inside, being demigods makes them even more vulnerable.

The thoughts of fighting an archenemy who can sense your weakness and feed your inner demons engulfed them, as they all wonder, "How can you defeat a monster who can see your weakness and feed your inner demons?" a question with no answer, they never thought Chaos has such powers, it's starting to feel like they were destined to fail, going on a mission they have no idea of winning, it's totally hopeless, while they stood on their feet and looked into each others eyes in great determination, shrugging aside all thoughts of failure, it was almost like they could see each others mind as Bruce spoke "We got this, we can't afford to fail" he said to everyone as he stretched his hand forward in the pit, they all joined him by putting their hands together and holding eachother firm as a form of unity and courage, Aphrodite knowing what their thoughts were loved the way they ended up believing in an hopelessly hopeless situation, her faith in them doubled as she called out

Aphrodite "It's time to know what your missions are" she said smiling as they all followed her out of the inner sanctum.
