The meeting carried on until we finally took a few minutes to have some coffee. Gods, I didn’t think we’d be having those meetings so soon. I didn’t really want to go through more of that sh.it. Nonetheless, there we were, and I’d learned that it would be better to accept the new circumstances and roll with them, looking for opportunities to swing things our way. There was no point in denying what was coming.
Matthew was acting strangely; his behavior was stilted, as if he were trying too hard. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. What was he up to? I really needed to keep an eye on him.
“I’m watching him,” Davin mind linked me, and I relaxed a little. I’d be okay with Davin there.
