(Reese) I stood at my desk for a full minute after the door closed. Not moving. Not reaching for my phone or opening my laptop or doing any of the things I had told him I needed to do. Just standing there with my hands flat on the desk and my composure back in place and my chest doing something I was not going to examine too closely. He had shown up at my office. Again. I pulled out my chair and sat down and opened my laptop and stared at the screen without seeing any of it.
