“I say hold onto the flip for France,” he says, talking to Danny over the boards toward the end of practice one day. “You won’t need it in Canada; the competition isn’t as fierce, and I know most of the judges personally. They’re a good, fair lot who won’t underscore you on bigotry alone. Save the flip for when you need it.”
