I smiled softly while looking at the face of my ten year old boy. I didn't believe that one day I would watch him sleep, but one thing I know is that I will give up anything just to watch him like this for the remaining days that I draw breath.
“This will be my favorite spot from now on,” I whispered gently, petting his hair and when I was about to leave he opened his eyes.
“Mom,” he called softly, gently sitting upright. “Are we in trouble?” he asked and I shook my head.
“No we are not but we are leaving,” I replied standing on my feet as I grabbed our bags. “Get up and come with me,” I replied and he moved down the bed and then quickly followed me out of the room.
“Mom I don't understand, is anyone trying to hurt us?”
“No Mason, we are safe.”
“Then why are we leaving?” he ask
