  Kayla's POV   I woke to the annoying chirping of my alarm, stomach twisted, back burning. Every movement sent a spike of pain down my spine. The bandages held, but I could feel dried blood clinging beneath them.   A note was on my desk:   Kelly,   I know you won't take it easy today because you're too stubborn to listen, but for once, listen to me. Take the pain killers and sleep in. I've got your back.   Torran   I smiled at the note and hobbled over to the medical kit. I took the painkillers and then applied the scent blockers. Showering was not an option today.
