  Kayla's POV   The walk to the kill site felt longer than it should have. Every muscle in my back still throbbed from the lashes, but that wasn't what was putting me on edge. Torran seemed oddly nervous. He kept pace beside me but stayed silent. When the tree line broke, we saw the area ahead. It was roped off and guarded.   "How bad is it, Torran?" I finally asked.
