Kayla's POV Sera didn't knock when she entered my room. She never did when she was checking on me. After a few days of it, I stopped minding it. I was sitting on the edge of the bed, pulling on my boots, when the door creaked open. Sera slipped inside with her usual quiet demeanor and shut the door behind her. "You still sore?" she asked, crossing the room with a jar of salve in hand. "Just a little. The wounds have mostly healed," I admitted. "Let me see." I pulled off my shirt so she could check the marks on my back. They were almost gone. Just faint bruises now. Sera dabbed the salve over the area without speaking. "You shouldn't be doing those late night runs on your own," she said after a moment. I froze. Was she tracking me? Did she know what I was doing?
