POV: Amelia
The river path was quiet in the early morning light. I walked alone like the message asked. Ethan and Clara waited hidden nearby. My heart beat fast with every step.
A figure waited by the water. It looked like my mother. She turned as I approached.
“Amelia,” she said softly. “You came. I knew you would.”
I stopped a few feet away. “Tell me the truth. Are you really my mother? Or is this another game?”
The woman smiled. “I am your mother. I have waited years to hold you again. Victoria kept me away. But I watched you grow strong.”
I took a step closer. “Then why the message? Why meet here alone?”
My mother looked at the water. “Because there is one more secret. Your father is not the only one Victoria hid. There is a sister. Your twin sister. She was taken at birth.”
