Chapter Twenty-Seven Blake stepped out of the bank and into the late morning sunshine, and checked his watch. He had just a few minutes before he was supposed to meet Maddie back at the diner for an early lunch. He’d hated leaving her this morning, but he’d had to make a special trip into Manhattan and needed an early start. They’d stayed up most of the night, making love, talking, making love again. His muscles were pleasantly sore, but he’d do it all over again, knowing she was staying. They’d checked the river before walking up the hill to where he’d parked the truck the night before.
