The night was cold and gloomy. Rain hadn’t stopped since a couple of days ago and everywhere you went, the streets were wet and slippery. She shouldn’t have been there. I told her not to go, but she didn’t listen. It happened in a split second and years ago I still wonder why I did it, if I even did the right thing, but alas, I had no time machine and there was no way to go back, to take it all back, so I have come to live with it. Even if living with it meant hurting more. It was supposed to be the last time I would ever see her again because I made sure of that. I took the fall and knew that whatever we had, whatever happened between us, it was over. There was no turning back.
