A second chance...you don't say

227 Words
So, apparently, Abena and her team of quiz contestants had the opportunity to be invited to their opponent's school for a return contest. Abena was all geared up and ready for the encounter as she has been prepping like forever to fight back after her opponents won against them when they hosted the quiz. Upon arrival, all eyes were on Abena and her team members. Well, they were quite a sight. Beautiful and intelligent ladies, that was one noticeable combination,  even the blind man can see that. Abena fortunately had the chance to contest, but, she lost. She was moody the whole time. The contests were over and there was a break for socialising. Abena met her childhood friend whom she had sent her regards to. They had a lot to catch up on. In the process, got interrupted by Kwame, the gentleman who befriended her some days ago. Kwame, practically took over the conversation so Abena's childhood friend asked to be excused cos he felt he was interrupting. That was when Kwame got the chance to console Abena on her loss and encouraged her that she was good and that was a great contest. Abena began to smile and yes, Kwame, has had another shot, cos this time, Abena wasnt rude to him. Guess indeed a second chance was needed to get Abena to be welcoming.
