Next week we're sitting at our reserved table behind the library with our brown lunch bags. Luna sits next to Waylen instead of me. I saw him turn slightly towards her as his hand happened to touch hers. All I can say from here is that he doesn’t love her. and it feels so good
"So the lunchtime book club is a democracy," Solace began, pushing a trolley of books onto the table.
"I brought a lot of books, there are at least six in the library. I think it starts with each of us choosing and voting for the books we want to read. Good."? "
We all nod and start flipping through the books. Finally, take the book and return to your seat. Waylen looks across the table at my selection.
"Anne Frank? Great choice."
"I know I chose it."
I look at the book and say beautiful new world.
"It's my favourite," he explains. “I never read it,” says Luna.
"Oh, that's really good. It's about this guy..." he started talking and approached him. Everyone will listen to him, but I just want to pick up a book and hit him in the head. Why does he keep trying to take over my book club?
“Brave New World supporters, would you like to raise your hands?”
I Refuse to raise your hand. But everyone else shoots. They've been waiting for me to join and they're looking at me like they didn't understand how cool Waylen was when he talked about it. "Veto."
I yelled at him.
"Why?" Waylen asked, laughing aloud. I can see that my face is red. I opened my mouth, but I don't know what to say next.
"Because." I'm taking a break. "Because we all know we have to read in Old English."
"Oh, yes, that's right," Luke admitted coolly, letting go. He wants to take it, but he just laughs. he smiled back shyly, looking down at the famous bologna sandwich with the horn of a napkin hanging over her ear.
"So what? Didn't Anne Frank read the Summer Book Club?" asks Luna. I can't believe it - she's by his side.
"Yeah, what's the difference?" Waylen asks them against me.
“It was summer reading,” I began, trying to think of reasons other than hating you and not letting you win.
"But the difference is that there was never a need to discuss it in class or anything, and neither should we."
"But we haven't read Brave New World yet, Now we are ready to know when to count leap years.”
"Exactly," agrees the Catholic student.
"Well, I think that's stupid." The words rolled off my tongue as if it was the most natural thing in the world. I immediately shut up, but it was too late. Luna kept her mouth shut as if she didn't believe what I said. she is shrinks and she looks just like her mother. I can't believe she said that just now.
"Okay guys, it's not that serious," pleads Professor Solace. ``Majority rule.
Everyone sees me as the dumbest person in the world. luna took a deep breath as we left the library. I looked her in the face and thought to myself,
"Okay, okay, I don't know what happened, luna," I admitted.
"Was it really bad?" I whispered.
"are you okay?" I nod.
"Are you still not feeling well from last week? Because your attitude is really strange."
"I don't believe it."
It's surprisingly quiet between us as we head to the locker.
"Hey, can we do something this weekend?" I finally asked her.
"Just us?" I explain, but I think you really need to tell her what happened with marco. I have to tell someone. etc. Before it explodes,
"I can't. I'm with my dad this weekend. Do you remember asking for my contact information?"
So it has to wait.
