"CLEAR!" MARA Says walking into my bedroom this weekend.
"Let's load up. Time to start leaking, Mia – I'm supposed to be your best friend, right?"
I close and lock the door behind her.
"What do you mean?" I ask as she falls onto my bed and takes off his coat.
“I mean, will I ever see you again? You spend every moment with Aiden Colley and have not given me details. So it's time to spill your guts."
"I don't know." I shrug my shoulders. "What is there to talk about?"
"Mia! Okay, let's start with where do you go when you're together every day? Do you go to Aiden Colley's house?" she asks, raising an eyebrow. I laugh
"Yes, I was even in Aiden Colley's bedroom."
"No s**t. Into Aiden Colley's bedroom," she repeats in wonder.
"Okay, you need to stop calling him Aiden Colley's, Luna. It's weird."
"But... . he's Aiden Colley's, Mia."
"I'm aware of that." I sit in my desk chair and look at her, so excited for me and really trying not to get excited for me too.
"What do you call her? Sweetie? Sexy? Sugar? Greek god?"
"Yes, Luna, I call him the Greek God." I laugh and throw a pillow at her face.
"Aiden usually does the trick."
"aiden… ”, she repeats, rolling the word in her mouth.
"Well, what is he really like?"
"I don't know. He's nice. He's just… . he's really nice."
"And hot, don't forget," she adds, as if I could ever forget that.
"You too… you know Had s*x?" she whispers. I nod yes.
"My God! What was it like? What was he like?" she asks awkwardly spitting at the edge of the bed. "No, I won't discuss it."
"Come on, I have to live vicariously through you," she pleads.
"So what's going on with you and waylen?"
"Nothing." she sighs.
“Not even close. Still just friends." And suddenly, when she looks at me, I feel a whole ocean between us, and we stand on opposite shores, looking at each other from the extreme ends of the world.
"So, tell me about your hot boyfriend. . Please?" she asks instead of acknowledging the great distance.
"He's not my boyfriend," I correct her.
"He doesn't want to be your boyfriend?" she asks, frowning.
"What, he just wants to sleep with you and…"
"No. It's me. I don't want to be his girlfriend."
"Are you crazy?" she immediately asks.
"Could be." I laugh
"But seriously. Are you completely crazy?"
“I just... I don't know. I guess I don't like that idea. I don't want to be involved. Mandatory It stuck, you know?"
"That makes no sense at all. But come on. As long as he's not trying to keep you a secret or something?
"He's not. I promise. And there's no point in wanting some privacy."
"What are you saying, Mie. I probably wouldn't know anything about it." she agrees, there is some resentment under the surface. But she quickly shoves it back to where it came from and smiles.
"So is it good? Or funny? Or whatever it's supposed to be." she laughs, confused.
"Is he nice to you when you're together?" I nod yes. she smiles.
"It is better for him to be."
