A Life Not Meant for Me

Chapter 4

Ace’s POV

“Ace” I felt my shoulder being shaken rapidly “Piss off” I hissed. “Time to go sleepy” ugh I hate getting up early “Yes time to go sleepy now piss off,” I said rolling over I felt warm hands around my shoulders as he picked me up “Put me down” I yelled at him “No” I heard the bath running. He wouldn’t. Would he? He started lowering me into the bath still falling closed, I was going to go in face first. I hatched a plan three...two... one...I cupped the water in my hands and threw it at his face. He may have dropped me but it was damn worth it. I cupped more water and threw it at him. His face was priceless he walked over to the bath and splashed me and I did the same only my splash was bigger. I pulled him into the bath so he was completely soaked through. He sat up in shock. I could tell my smile was reaching my ears. He now looked like he was going to pounce which he did dunking me so I was completely wet. I waited until he relaxed then got him back we were both now in a really really cold bath and completely soaked. 

When we finally got out we both got changed and grabbed our bags. On the way out Danzel grabbed one of the briefcases. We walked out of the building after locking up huge smiles on both of our faces. As I got in the limousine I found a seat buckled up then laid down to go back to sleep. When Danzel got in he sat where my head was and then rested my head on his lap. He was playing with my hair as I fell asleep. I woke to Danzel shaking me to wake up again. I got up and walked out of the car towards the plane. 

It has been ten out of twenty-one hours and forty-five minutes on this godforsaken plane. I woke up four hours ago and am trying to find something to do. “I am bored, I am bored, I am bored, I am bored,” I said hoping to annoy someone. I am going to annoy Danzel. “Danzel, Danzel, Danzel, Danzel, Danzel, Danzel, Danzel, Danzel, Danzel” He looked at me and back at his work “What” finally someone to talk to “I am bored” He patted the spot next to him. “What are you doing”  he rested my head on his shoulder “ watching a movie” “Actually! I have been trying not to disturb you because I thought you were working!” I am so annoyed “I was working now I am watching a movie with you” now I feel bad “Sorry” why can’t this flight be over “It’s fine, what do you want to watch?” You. “I don’t know. You pick” 

Finally, the trip is over. We watched four movies and slept for the remaining time. We are now in a car on our way to his house. “Quick question, Do I say I am your friend or assistant?” I want to know “You are my girlfriend” What!! “Why?” Why did I say that!!!! “You could say, future wife,” He said with a smirk “Girlfriend will do. But why?” I guess I am no longer single “Because you’re mine and this label will ensure that.” Whatever you say jealous “Oh-kay,” I said spacing it out to annoy him more.

We soon arrived at a huge and I mean huge mansion. As we got out of the car our bags were confiscated and They went to take our jackets but Danzel said no. “Call me D, not Danzel. Alright?” he whispered into my ear and I nodded. “Dede (dee-dee) !! It’s been way too long!” a little girl came running out and hugged him “Who is she?” the little girl said. She couldn’t be any older than six. “This is my girlfriend” her smile got bigger “Is she gonna be my aunty?” I laughed at that and bent down to look at her “I hope so” I said smiling at her as she came over and hugged me “Up! Up!” She said I looked at Danzel for confirmation he nodded so I picked her up. “Wanna sit on my shoulders to be taller than D?” I said looking into her deep blue eyes. “Yes!” she squealed I put her on my shoulders and start walking forwards. As I walked inside I saw the beautiful insides of the house. “Wow,” I said walking in further “Mummy! Mummy! This is Aunty!” I almost choked on my saliva. “I wasn’t aware you were married D” he looked at me then back at her “Not yet ma” She walked over to me and looked me up and down before breaking out in a huge smile “She is so beautiful” she went up to me and hugged me and I hugged her back reluctantly, I hate hugs. “Mummy I am taller than Dede!” She laughed and looked back at me and mouthed are you okay? I just nodded. “She is strong too” she then walked behind me and pulled her off of my back “Lilly they must be tired, how about you show them to their room” Lilly walked up to me and grabbed my hand and started walking me to who knows where. “This is your and Dede’s room” she is so cute “Thank you” I started to turn the handle “Dede never lat’s anyone one in there he even said that his wife won’t go in there but he said you are more than a wife that is why you can go in. bye!” she started running off down the hallway. I opened the door and saw another amazing room there was a dark grey bed in the centre of the room and a huge window on one side of the room that leads out to a balcony. Opposite the bed, there was a large TV and an entrance to a large walk-in closet on both sides. I walked over to the couch at the end of the bed and sat down. After a few minutes, I decided to look in the wardrobe. As I walked in, I saw all of my clothes had been unpacked and so had Danzels on the other side with the bathroom entrance separating the two wardrobes. I walked out again this time to go to sleep, I am really tired. As I got into bed I saw Danzel walk in and shut the door behind him and he walked over to the bed. I felt the bed dip and he gets in wrapping his arms around me. “I don’t know anything about you.” I said accidentally aloud “What do you want to know?” Ummm… I don’t know “Everything” I mean I sort of do want to know. 

After an hour, we both went to sleep we talked for that whole hour. It felt nice in his arms not gonna lie. When I woke up I could feel him tracing patterns on my forehead. “Hi, I was waiting for you we have to go down to dinner in a few minutes,” He said sleepily “Okay, Should I change?” I honestly don’t know why I asked him “You look fine as you are” I started getting up to go to brush my hair but he pulled me back into bed. “Don’t go” He whined like a baby. “If I go now we can have dinner then come back to bed how does that sound?” I just want to stay in bed right now but I don’t want to be rude. “I am going with you” Duh “I know now get up” I got out of his grip and walked into the bathroom to tie my hair back up and re-adjust my clothes. When I finished I walked out and saw Danzel was still in bed so I walked back into the bathroom and filled up a jug with cold water and walked out again. I walked over to Danzel and poured a tiny bit into his ear making him jump up. “Hey! What was that for!?” I just laughed, “I said to get up” He pouted “You didn’t have to pour water on me!” I giggled more “Oh but I did” He frowned. I walked back into the bathroom and placed the jug down on the counter. When I walked out Danzel was up and ready. “Let’s go grumpy,” I said walking out the door. He followed out after me. When we got downstairs his mum was setting the table so I decided to go and help. “Hi, I don’t think I introduced myself earlier my name is Alexia but I prefer Ace.” I said setting the plates “My name is Diana, nice to meet you. It’s good seeing someone make D happy” I simply smiled. After we finished setting the table we both sat down and everyone began to sit in their seats. I sat at the head of the table with Danzel. One of their maids brought out dinner for us. I hadn’t had a meal with this many people since… 

After dinner I was so tired I chose to go to bed before. Danzel came with me. I was lying with my head on his stomach and looking up into his deep blue eyes. They were so gorgeous. He was also staring back into my deep green ones. It all hit me, he was the only one that I really talked to anymore. He was all I had left. My family is gone they won’t come back. I...I...I can’t. I didn’t even go to their funeral I was instead in a warm bed. Hell, I don’t even know where they were buried. I felt the wetness grace my eyes. “What’s wrong?” his voice was husky and warm. I don’t know why I did what I did next but I am glad I did. The kiss was… I don’t know how to describe it. It sent me to heaven.

In the morning, Danzel and I had to go and finish something but we were back by lunch. When we got back the table was set and people were sitting down so Danzel and I went at sat at last night's spots. “How was work honey?” I didn’t know if she was talking to me or Danzel because she recently called me hun so… I felt danzel nudge me I guess I was supposed to talk “Good,” I said quickly to not sound rude. “You should come out for a horse ride later” said Danzel, I just looked at him in shock he horse rides? “I have never done that before I will have to try it.” I said I can’t wait to see him ride. 

After lunch we headed back up to our room and got changed into long pants and a long sleeve jacket and headed back downstairs to the back yard where the stables were. Danzel walked straight up to a pure black horse and kiss the horse on the forehead. “I hope you are feeling better you are only ten months but I know you can do it” he whispered but I heard it and smiled. He then walked over to a pure white horse and got on the saddle it was wearing. “Your’s is the other pure white one over there” I looked over and went to get on the white horse but then I saw a Black one come up in the way I tried to go around him but couldn’t. He was protecting her. “I think that he doesn’t want me to” I said looking at Danzel “You can ride him if you want” Yes! “Okay but how do I get on?” he laughed and got off of his horse and walked over to me and boosted me up onto the horse. “Here, now follow me boy” he said to the horse and lead him over to his horse who was also a guy. “You are riding Hunter, and this is Ryley.” he said pointing at his horse I leant forward and patted Hunters chin. “Come on” he then got up on his horse and we rode over to the side of a lake for them to drink from first.

After the ride we had a quick nap and read for a while. We also played B.S with cards and some Uno. B.S was a short game as there were only two people playing. Uno was fun especially because I won every game. I was so bored though after Danzel said he had to talk to his father who wasn’t here for lunch or dinner yesterday. I also played Uno with Jake and Lily who were really excited when they won mainly because I let them but they didn’t know that. I also played a ‘Quick’ game of monopoly with them too. I enjoyed playing with them and hated it when we had to leave a week later. It is now October and starting to get hot. I hated the hot weather of summer and usually stayed inside in the aircon. This was going to be my year though. I had no parents to tell me that I couldn’t go for a swim and I had a job to pay for things I wanted. I also no longer have to pay rent because Danzel owns the building and is staying with me. How did I get to be so lucky to have him. I still want to know what was in those cases though. I have also watched one of those memory videos on how to fight properly. I took Danzel down twice when we practiced but he may have gotten out both times. He is way stronger than he looks and he looks really strong. I really want to go back to school but then I know that I will end up wanting to leave there. Each day Danzel has been teaching me how to lie better and how to hide my emotions. He doesn’t even know how I feel anymore unless I want him to. I have also made the spare room in our apartment a gym where Danzel and I train. I now can do fifty chin ups and push ups straight after each other. I am a completely different person to how I used to be. I am also now getting business calls about drug and weapon shipments and as soon as I go to school next year I will be aloud to keep taking those calls even during class. I also know that before I left I started stuff I probably shouldn’t have like pissing the wrong people off only now I can actually defend myself better not that I couldn’t before. On my birthday I went for a huge bike ride around the whole city and was so tired at the end.
