There is more fiction in this novel than in the previous novel, God"s Hammer, due to the fact that less is known of this exact period in time. There is no real timeline citing when certain fights or political moves happened or how close in proximity to Erik"s departure they happened. Hence, I chose those I thought might make the most sense and the best story. We know, for instance, that Erik left his Norwegian realm circa AD 935 and appears again in the Orkney Islands and later, in Scotland and England, though we don"t know any of the details surrounding his departure. We also know that Erik never returns to Norway, though why is not clear.
