CHAPTER 4

18TH BIRTHDAY

“Dad! Mom! I can't believe we turned 18 today! Am so happy” Kim said loudly with John also chuckling at her while they both jumped on their parent's bed to get their attention.

“Yes! Guys! And that's why we are so happy for both of you. And you know what? We are having a big birthday party for you guys today!” Meggie said with a big grin on her face and a smile on Bill's face.

“Wow! You mean I get to see all my friends come to the house today!?” John asked

“Oh yes… they all have been informed!” Bill also added. Meggie jeered the children to come towards her to look at something through the window “Come guys! Come and see from here! We have something to show you!” Meggie added.

The twins hurriedly ran to their mom's standing position to see what their mum was trying to show them, “Wow!!!... You bought us a car?” Kim exclaimed with joy. “Wait, what!? Latest BMW! You've got to be kidding!” John added with amusement. “You also organized a tent for a get-together!” Kim said excitedly after seeing the huge canopy tent displayed in front of their compound.

“When did you do all this?! Cause I know I came in late last night from practice and there were no traces of all these when I came in!” John asked inquisitively.

Bill said with a smiling face “Well we knew you might find out that was why we locked the front door so you could take the back door and it will still get you guys by surprise”. “You are the best Mom and Dad ever, Kim and John hugged their parents.

While looking through the window from their parents' room Kim saw Binda who was trying to trash and clean the dirt around the tent area outside and her mood changed immediately.

“What's that girl doing there!? I do not want to see her go near any of our stuff today! I don't want her close to anything we are going to be doing today” Kim said angrily.

“Which girl?” Meggie said while peeping through the window, “Oh you mean Kid?, I asked her to clean the area cause of the visitors coming in today, don't worry guys she ain't going to bother any of you! She would be occupied with more chores than usual you don't have to worry”

Binda was named Kid by the Jacksons, they could think of no other suitable name to give her. Binda had grown into a 17-year-old teenager with a beautiful face and shining brown eyes, her skin was rough and was very light-skinned due to the lot of work she had always been subdued to by the Jacksons and lack of adequate feeding.

“Thanks, Dad! Thanks, Mum” John and Kim said, pecking their parents on the forehead while leaving their room.

“How many years is left for us to complete her trade? Meggie asks with her face squeezed and angry at seeing how her children felt at her sight.

Bill looked at Meggie with his eyebrows raised, “That's true, we were asked to bring her when she turns 18 which is still a year from now I guess.”

“Argh… I can't wait for her to be gone already…” Meggie said angrily as she dashed out of the room angrily.

“Kid! How many times have I told you never to come close to my stuff?” Kim asked Binda with her fingers crossed and face squeezed angrily. Binda ignored her and didn't utter a word but continued pouring the water into the Large drum she was filling.

This made Kim angry and landed her a slap on her face, Binda fell pouring the water on the floor and crying profusely when Nina came in. “Kim, what's wrong?” Nina asked, Kim hissed and left angrily.

Nina assisted Binda in getting up, urging her to stop crying. “Why does everyone in this house hate me.” She murmured soberly, Nina responded to her “Oh dear, no one hates you, you are loved” Nina said as she tried to comfort her.

Meggie came outside the house angrily with Kim, “Nina!, where are you? Why the hell did you touch my daughter?” Nina and Binda were shocked… Nina responded quickly “No… o… ma, I… I… never lay…”.

“Oh then you mean she is lying! Pack your bags, you are leaving this house today!”. Nina dropped down to her knees immediately, before she could utter any plead for mercy, Meggie had turned her back and left.

Nina Left in the early hours of the morning, Meggie had called a freelance agency to provide her with a new House help but they informed her that they would be providing feedback the next day.

At Noon, Guests started arriving at Jackson's house dressed up in beautiful attires, Rob and Beckie also came in with their son Jayden with gifts to honour the celebrants as they had been a long-time family friend with the Jacksons.

It was Jayden's first time in the Jackson's house and immediately he stepped into the premises with his parents he felt a sensational smell and a cool suiting breeze blew his hair from his forehead he knew immediately that the scent belonged to a special person and he must find out who this person is.

“Dad! Mum! Wanna check something out, Join you guys soon” Jayden said as he dashed out from their presence before they could even utter a word.

“Oh oh! Look who we have here!” Bill said, with a very surprised face and a big grin stretching his arm to shake Rob while Meggie hugged her friend Beckie. “ I like your earrings, they are so pretty, they look like one of my sisters,” Beckie said, appreciating her friend's look.

“Yeah, I got it from our last vacation trip,” Meggie said with an awkward face showing discomfort at the way Beckie had complimented her as she doesn't like being compared to anyone and always wanted to be unique with all her belongings.

“Where is Jayden?” Bill said looking behind the couples and anticipating a response from them, “Oh! Jayden, we came in together but he wanted to quickly check something before he joined us inside. No worries he would be back” Rob said as they all walked inside the house.

Jayden is a tall handsome-looking boy with a muscular body and dark curly hair, his brown eyes always complementing his smiles.

He thought to himself who could have this sensational scent, I have lived in Clayton for most of my years and I have never felt this scent. Who could this be? he thought to himself as the scent grew stronger as he approached the guest house behind Jackson's mansion.

Binda lived in the guest house which was behind the main Jackson's Mansion, she had a small bunker bed which she lays on and was not always allowed into the main mansion.

When she was ten years old, Meggie had instructed her to go and live with Nina in the guest house due to an argument that occurred between her and her kids, ever since then she had not returned to the main Mansion.

She suddenly felt a strange smell but couldn't identify if it was a food smell or perfume as it was her first time having this strange smell feeling, her body suddenly started reacting strangely, although she was 17 sometimes she does feel strange and sudden changes in her body but was not able to tell anyone as she didn't trust anyone.

Immediately she heard the sound of the bucket she sat upright on her bed “Who is that?” She asked with a loud voice standing up and peeping through her window.

The sight of a tall handsome guy trying to find his way appeared to her as she opened the door. “Hello! Can I help you?” Binda asked with a gentle voice.

Jayden was amazed at the sight of Binda as he was fully certain that she was the embodiment of the beautiful scent his inner wolf had been directing him towards, he was lost for words for a minute trying to observe her from head to toe.

He searched his inner wolf for a clue of what she had gone through if she was in danger or had anything bothering her, he noticed her eyes were wet and he wondered if it was due to crying or if she just come out from the washroom.

“The party is at the front of the house” Binda broke the silence as she knew the strange smell and feeling she had earlier was from this tall-looking guy and she felt comfortable as she set her eyes on him.

“Hi, My name is Jayden! And I am here for the party. What's your name?” Jayden said, stretching his arms to shake Binda. Binda responded by shaking Jayden’s hands in return “Hello Jayden, My name is Kid” Binda felt a warm feeling inside her, she had never felt this with anyone before.

“Am sure you will be joining the party soon, I mean it's just right in front of your house you know” Jayden said to confirm that she would be coming over to the party. Binda gave a little smile and nodded in affirmation to what Jayden said.

“All right! It's really lovely meeting you! I hope to see you soon!” Jayden said as he turned around to go back to the front of the house where the party was happening. He was very happy he got a glimpse of the owner of the scent. It was a lovely moment for him as he had sought this type of feeling for a long time and could not find it.

Binda felt so comfortable seeing Jayden and it was as if there was a big workload taken of her, for a second she forgot where she was and clung to the memory of Jayden's sight. She knew she was not going to show up at the front house but she was happy she got a new visitor friend.

“Hello lover boy! Where have you been?? Been searching all around for you!” Tyler said, throwing her arm all over Jayden’s shoulder. Tyler had a fierce-looking face with dark-coloured eyes and brown hair and was almost the same height as Jayden.

“Would you keep your hands off me?” Jayden ordered Tyler after mindlinking her wolf, immediately she reluctantly removed her arms away as he walked away from her.

Tyler felt bad as Tyler was a wolf who wanted to be a Luna at all cost and she knew Jayden was the Alpha of their pack in Clayton and she knew that the only way to become a Luna was to be Jayden's mate. Jayden on the other hand does not feel any connection

“What are you guys doing here?” Jayden mind-linked Brodie and Druine after catching their scent at the party, then, they came and

Put their arms on the Alpha's shoulders, “We are here to protect you as our Alpha.” Brodie said. “We heard you are attending a party with many guests so we came to accompany you” Druine.

“Speaking of accompany, who are they?” Jayden said, pointing towards a Black limousine arriving at the party with two expensive escort vehicles. The three of them paid close attention to those coming down from the vehicle and heading towards them.
