But in that desire to get away, I hardly paid attention to anything ahead of me. Suddenly, I bumped into a hard surface that just felt like a rock-hard wall. I felt like I was going to fall when I felt a pair of familiar rough hands grab my elbows to prevent me from stumbling.
Startled, I stepped back to see who I bumped into. I immediately saw his dark green eyes staring into my blue ones. He gave me a questioning look, most probably wondering why my face is drenched with tears now.
Admittedly, this was an unfavorable condition of mine I would want for him to see. I didn’t want him to see me like this, weak and vulnerable. Also, I probably look like a mess right now.
