Chapter 33: Let's See What Damage You Can Do

1921 Words
*Jaxon’s POV* “How do you think this is going to turn out?” Nikko asked as we sat in my office. “I don’t know.” I answered honestly. “We’ll have to wait and see.” “What if she kicks your ass too?” Nikko raised a brow as he smirked smugly. “I don’t know if she’s quite that strong.” I responded. I’m one of the strongest wolves out here. If Piper’s able to take me down then it’ll take this being special thing to a whole new level. We needed to get to the bottom of this but Dee still couldn’t bring us more information. She had been through all those books at least twice now. It was like whatever information she had found once before was completely erased. “I’m ready.”  Piper’s voice came over through our connection. “I’ll meet you at the front doors.” I informed her. “Sounds good.” She then closed the connection. “We need to get going.” I spoke to Nikko as I stood up from my chair. We had been going over updates we had received overnight about Moon Stone. There really wasn’t much information yet. The members we had sent out were still making their ways to the other packs. They had been checking in with the others and everyone was still safe. Nikko and I exited the office. I proceeded to lock the door and we walked to the front doors. Piper and Dee were already there waiting. I was happy to see that the two of them had gotten close. It made it a lot easier that Piper had gotten close to the sister of my beta. It was like she had taken on a beta of her own actually. Dee was a damn good choice too. The girl may have spent most of the time in the library but don’t let the fool you. She knew how to stand her ground. Dee and Nikko had a strong bloodline and they were both extremely powerful fighters. “Ready?” I asked to get the girls attention as we approached them. “Yes.” Piper smiled as she turned around to face me. “Are you?” “Of course.” I nodded and proceeded to lead the way out of the pack house. Nikko and Dee followed behind Piper and I as we headed for the training facility. I had cancelled all the trainings to keep the building cleared out. After what I had heard yesterday I needed to take Piper one on one. It would be alot easier to assess her without an audience to get in the way. If she was really as strong as I’ve been told this could get intense. I meant it when I told her I wouldn’t be going easy on her. The only thing I would do is make sure she didn’t get hurt. Other than that nothing was off the table. We arrived at the training facility and walked inside. Just as I had requested no one else was here. I led the way to the training room where only the mats were laid out at the moment. The rest of the equipment was organized in one of the corners so it was out of our way. “Dee, Nikko, why don’t you two take a seat.” I suggested but it was really more of an order. “Okay.” Dee nodded as she began to head to the observation area. Nikko followed behind her. They were the only two allowed in here with us. I needed to have some extra eyes to watch Piper. It wasn’t going to be easy to really test her ability and fight back at the same time. Dee and Nikko were also the only pack members who knew that Piper had something a little different about her. “So are we going to do this or what?” Piper asked with her hands on her hip. I let out a low chuckle. “Are we a little antsy to see if you can kick my ass?” “Well duh.” She smirks playfully. I pull my shirt off and toss it out of the way. “We’ll fight in our human forms first. Then when we’re done I want to see what damage you can do in your wolf form.” “Okay.” She nodded. “Let’s get started.” I proceed to get into my fighting stance and wait for her to get into her’s. Once she does it’s time to begin. “Go.” We look into each other’s eyes as we circle around the mat. I lunge at her and she dodges me. We go back to circling each other. I made my move now it’s time to get her to make hers. She attempted to throw a punch but my reflexes are too fast. I caught her fist with my hand to stop her from making contact with my face. I can tell already that our strengths are about the same level. For a female it’s slightly surprising. She backs up and we intensely look into each other’s eyes again. I tried to take her by surprise as I charged toward her and knocked her to the ground. She tried to fight me off but I held her wrists together firmly above her head. I can tell she was trying to think of her next move. I could tell she got an idea into her mind fairly quickly. She manages to get a foot up to the middle of my abdomen and pushes me off with all the force she has. Before I knew she had me on my back on the mat. She took me by surprise when she pounced on top of me and held me to the ground, she was damn strong. It seemed like we would just be going back and forth like this if we continued. The point was to test her strength, not to exhaust. If she got too tired I wouldn’t be able to see how she fought when she was shifted. “That’s enough.” I spoke. She removed herself from me and held her hand out to help me up. I took it and we both stood in front of each other. I tried to study her for a moment as that little fight had only made me more intrigued with her. “What?” She asked as she furrowed her brows together. “Your strength really is no joke.” I answered. “No one’s been able to take me down and keep me down like that.” “I’m just doing what I was trained to do.” She shrugged. “Why don’t you get some water before we fight in our wolf forms.” I suggested. “Okay.” She nodded. I turn my attention to Dee and Nikko. “Well?” “I’ve never seen anyone be able to take you down so quickly.” Nikko responded through the mind link connection. “I told you, her strength is no joke.” Dee chimed in. “Keep taking notes.”  I directed as I noticed Piper coming back from taking a drink. “Ready when you are.” She spoke as she stood in front of me. “Let’s do this then.” I nodded as I began to strip down my shorts. We undressed and shifted quickly. We got into our stances once again and began to circle each other again. This time I was going to make her take the first move. It was only fair. Piper bared her teeth right before attempting to jump on me. I dodged her and used my teeth to grab her by the neck. I then proceeded to fling her to the other side of the room. I was careful to make sure she wouldn’t hit anything and get hurt. She straightened up and as if we had the same thought we both began to run towards each other. I jumped up into the air and her teeth grabbed onto one of my legs. She pulled me to the ground and we rolled around as we both fought to over take the other. She was putting up a hell of a fight. I could feel my energy begin to train the longer this kept up. I almost had myself on top of her but she used what was left of her strength to flip us so that she was once again on top of me. She opened her mouth and dug her teeth slightly into my neck. “That’s enough.” I spoke through the connection I had with Piper. She nodded and backed off. “Do you want to shift back?” “Yes.” I responded as I got up. We shifted back and got dressed. Dee and Nikko had been kind enough to avert their eyes during this time. When we were dressed they came down from the observation area. They stopped in front of us and studied both Piper and I. “We’re about the same level.” I finally spoke. “I agree with Dee, it has to be from your power. We’ve only been marked for days, your strength wouldn’t match mine quite yet if it was from me.” “So what does this mean?” Piper asked curiously. “I don’t know yet.” I answered. “For right now I want you to go get some rest though, I know that took a lot out of both of us. Dee I want you to go to the library and try to look through those books again.” “Okay.” Dee nodded and turned to Piper. “Walk with me?” “Sure.” Piper gave her a small smile and then looked at me. “What are you going to do?” “I just need to check in on a few things to see if I’m needed the rest of the day. Then I’ll be up there with you.” I responded. “Okay.” Piper then gave me a kiss on the cheek and walked out of the training room. We listened for them to be out of the training facility. Once Nikko and I heard the door close we turned to look at each other. I could tell we had the same thing on our mind. “Do you think it’s possible she’s from that blood line?” Nikko asked with a raised eyebrow. “I don’t know.” I sighed. “I mean it could be but the fact she doesn’t even have the thought in her mind doesn’t surprise me, Moon Stone really sheltered their wolves.” “Do you think that maybe they suspected she was part of it?” He questioned further. “Oh I’m sure they do. Which means we should probably prepare for Matteo’s arrival.” There was a tinge of annoyance at the mention of his name. Nikko nodded. “Do you think he'll really come for her? I mean she’s marked now.” “It doesn’t matter to him.” I shook my head. “If he suspects she’s from the line then he’s not going to give her up that easily. He needs her and it’s just a matter of time before he makes his move to try to get her back at Moon Stone.”
