Clarisse faked a broad smile for Raymond as she pretended to be flattered by his Romeo charms. She gently grabbed Raymond’s hands and freed her face. Kissed him on the cheek, she said, “I need to get ready now. It’s five past twelve. Have to be at The Opulence at seven.” “Uh-huh,” Raymond murmured “… better be quick then, I may have to leave soon. I’ll drop you off and head back home.” “All right.” Clarisse darted from the kitchen to the living room. Sam sprawled on the couch with pizza in his lap. Clarisse pursed her lips and put her hands on her waist in absolute disapproval. She noticed the crumble of pizza all over the couch and a couple of toppings on the floor. A mustache of pizza sauce had appeared on Sam’s face, tiny stains and bread crumbs scattered on both edges of his mouth.
