Clarisse’s heart throbbed against her chest, as if it was going to explode like a grenade. Utter fear was slowly going to paralyse Clarisse. She knew soon she would be unable to make her arms or limbs move. The alcohol seemed to dilute in her fear and fading into the concentration of her blood. A tizzy began to crawl through her skin and made her nauseous. A series of questions floated against her eyes. The voices inside her reminded her that they had warned her against this and yet she didn’t listen. As usual, she always digs up her own grave. Clarisse tried to use her smile to deceive the scary men around her, but they didn’t show even the slightest sign of politeness. One of them had the ugliest scar on his face Clarisse had ever seen.
