Daniel flinched at the noise from the other side of the compound. They were inside the cafeteria, watching the rain sluicing down the windows and wondering how Will and Hooper were, wondering if they would be back soon. “What was that?” Daniel said, eyes wide. “Sounded like a gunshot to me,” Lee said. “How do you know that?” Lee stood up. “Because I’ve heard plenty of them before.” Daniel didn’t like the look on her face and he stood up, too. “You think there might be a dinosaur loose inside?” “Maybe,” Lee muttered. “Defences might have been breached again.” There was another gunshot, closer this time, and both of them flinched. “I don’t like this,” Daniel said. “Me neither.” They both headed for the door.
